Kittens are beautiful. They are so cute when they are little. It is 2:30 in the morning. I need to get some sleep. Take care and enjoy your little new family and garden. I forgot to tell you that your shawl is beautiful. Happy stitching and gardening. Stay well.❤

Oh those beautiful kittens! Your poly tunnel is yielding so much produce. I'm quite envious. I bought a 2m x 2m x 3m one, but so far it keeps topping over in sections! Must get it settled onto second hand bricks or pavers to make sure it's level.

There's nothing quite like an armful of kittens. The cat Moms are so fiercely proud of their offspring. While I love green growing things, and admire people who garden, it's not something I've felt called to do. I do sometimes worry what I'd do if some world emergency caused everyone to have to grows their own food.

I really love your vlogs. They are one of the best things on the internet. The birds chirping, Sadie and her babies mewing, and is it me, I really love the sound of the chickens... clucking? Not sure what that sound is called. Beautiful
@thelasthomelyhouse6 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure its a 'cluck' its far more gentle than that! My son once said - when we were down in the hen run ... he said 'That's your favourite sound isn't it Mum?' and he was 100% correct! Thank you! xxx

It's so hard to bounce back to what we did before, isn't it? And it does get frustrating! I'm hope you get back to your normal soon!! You still got an awful lot done in a day. It looks great!! I think one of the things I miss most is gardening. Those kittens are so adorable!! They're so much fun at that age, as they learn to explore their world.
@thelasthomelyhouse6 жыл бұрын
My New Me at present they are in my bedroom, and before they were moving around that was ok. But this next few week is going to be interesting as they start to zoom around and explore everything! I’m wondering how to relocate them downstairs without Sadie freaking out. 🤔🌿❤️

I think that’s why I’m not overly fond of gardening, I always feel like I’m so far behind and never catch up. While I’m getting this space up to snuff, the rest of the garden grows out of control! I head over to that bit & the piece I just did misbehaves 😩 Looking forward to seeing the Indigo Goose Quilt quilted 🤩 I know I could peek ahead but just love watching in order and letting life unfold.

It’s Mother’s Day 2020. I knew there would be no Kate on the channel cause you are with your beautiful children and the lovely Agnes. So, I dialed up this video just to get a dose of Kate and the kittens. It worked just fine. Hope you had a lovely Mother’s Day.

It's been revoltingly hot in the Ohio Valley. My husband and I work in fits and starts between World Cup matches. Sometimes when I'm working with my hands in some way, I like to listen to audio books. The polytunnel looks great after all that hard work as does the quilt top! Glad you had a lovely visit with your father and aunt. Kittens!! We're all going to miss them when they leave. :( It will be tough for Sadie. Enjoy your last bit of pottery for a while. Thank you for posting!

Gwyn Wellliver thank you - I can’t imagine being that hot, I melt in an English summer sometimes and we never get temperatures like yours. Air conditioning I guess? But the poor garden! Lots and lots of watering? 😊❤️🌿
@gwynwellliver44896 жыл бұрын
The Last Homely House East of the Sea Air conditioning is a must. The temps have broken for a couple of days due to much needed rain. We need to water daily in summer. We are looking forward to visit my parents in NH where it's been cool. I miss the Northeast dreadfully in summer when the Ohio Valley is so unpleasant.

Here's an idea: Cornmeal is a germination suppressant. If you sprinkle cornmeal on your path in your greenhouse, if will keep all of the weed seeds from germinating, and hurt nothing and no one! Then, if you don't like the look of it, you can sprinkle dirt over it, or just rake it in.......just a thought.
@thelasthomelyhouse5 жыл бұрын

I like your channel! Sad to hear you've been ill. I saw your elderberry syrup video. I use local honey for sweetener. It's a preventative medicine for us from October through June. Herbalists say it does away with the "H" in the H1N1 flu. The kittens are so sweet! So enjoyable. We had plenty of them when children were here. I hope to have a poly tunnel in the spring. Yours looks inviting and you got into shape! Two years in a row my warm season veg like tomatoes and eggplant barely matured a harvest. I'll have to start earlier and under cover the next season. We're going to build cold frames over the raised beds.

The polytunnel looks grand after all your weeding work. My kitten I adopted on the winter solstice has gone missing. I'm just heartbroken :( He was a Siamese mix and his name was Tulgey Wood. I had 4 cats and they can come in and out as they desire, now only 3. Cyrano, Orion and Douglas.... my furry boys. I miss him so very much. I hope your energy starts improving so you can do everything you want to do! Take care Kate!

heather foley I’m so sorry about your kitten, I hope you have been reunited by now? One of my four just takes off from time to time for a couple of days, I used to worry, but she always turns up so I guess she just leads a double life? Fingers crossed for your little chap xxxx

Will this be the last kitten litter for your cat?
@thelasthomelyhouse6 жыл бұрын
Linda Leal yes, it will, I hadn’t intended to allow even this lot, but friends persuaded me, and they do all have homes, and I have so enjoyed it, so it was a good idea. But Sadie will just have this one litter. There are a lot of cats in the world so I think it’s the responsible thing to do xxx
@lindaleal8096 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply. I was wondering because I have heard that cats and dogs become more settled after having first litters and wondered if that was true.
@thelasthomelyhouse6 жыл бұрын
Linda Leal I’m not sure about that? My three other cats are all girls and I had them spayed at six months so they never had kittens. All three seem perfectly contented. Maybe it’s more to do with their home situation? Sadie is so thin now she is feeding five growing kittens, she’s going to take some building up when these guys go at eight weeks. But I also know that being a mum makes me feel happy! 😊❤️
