We first heard “The Emperor’s Theme” in Ep.6. It was an awesome experience to hear the pipe organ in the theaters. It made you freeze in your seat.

I do not think there is any pipe organ in that theme, but I may be wrong. As far as I can tell, the bass is mostly String Bass and perhaps Tuba (and some low woodwinds?). That being said, an actual pipe organ rendition of the Emperor's Theme would be *amazing*.

What I like the most about Darth Sidious as villain is that he isn't cheesy at all. Usually, villains in movies try to have an understandable or somewhat agreeable goal, and the ones who are just "bad guys" are dumbed down kid characters. Now, with Palpatine, we have a character who is just pure evil with no redeeming qualities or relatable goals, but it works perfectly. He is the perfect villain.

The thing thats interesting with the relase in trilogies of Star Wars over these past 40 years, is how the story seems to have changed according to when you first saw the films. When I was a kid and the first three were out, it seemed to be a story of farm boy becoming galactic hero, a Luke Skywalker story. When the Lucas prequels came out, that turned into an Anakin Skywalker/Vader story, and now with the latest, it seems to be a Palpatine/Sidious story.

Beautiful. I would say that the only one that kinda annoys me is the 7:50 version. There is an accord in the 2nd measure of the main theme that gives a vibe of a mysterious wholesome tone, which feels weird to the Darth Sidious vibe which is pure darkness and evil. That accord gives the emperor theme a small bit of light or kindness which feels wrong. But just a very subjective opinion. Curious to know if anybody else felt the same way.

When I hear the piano and orchestra rendition of the theme I picture Luke and Vader entering the Throne room and instead of the spartan sparse room it's an elegant 18th century like design with paintings depicting environments and romanticized depictions of the Emperor and his Empire as his imperial guard play the piano and other musical instruments to entertain Imperial nobles and the Emperor himself as he gazes at nothing but the stars.
