Yay! I have a Brother CV 3550 for 3 years but never used it until today. I've been trying to hem a form dress lining in a tricky fabric and I've really been struggling to get the tension right. BUT with your help I just finished it AND although not perfect it looks pretty darn goo!! Thank you so much.

So glad to have found your video very informative and gives me optimism. Many years /tears ago I bought the first Janome 900cp. After much trial and tribulation it was consigned to the cupboard until recently. But I a while ago I discovered I'd been using the wrong needles dah. So it has now been reinstated for me to coax it into coming to an understanding between us and your info, and perhaps a book purchase, will enable us to get along better and achieve a more harmonious relationship. Due to its lack of finesse it will certainly prepare me for a better machine if I decide to purchase one. With regards from New Zealand.

I own a Janome cover stitch machine like yours. You have taught me about top cover stitch to lust after. But I don’t use it enough. If using a mallet this from my antique restorer hubby. Place the bit to be hit over the leg of the table, the force needs to go through to the ground in a straight line. It prevents the bounce and the hit is much more effective.

Hi, Johanna. I am late to the “cover stitch party “. I haven’t made the time to watch your videos in a while. I bought a demonstrator Baby Lock Triumph last summer. I saved some money since it was a used machine. Now that I am finally retired, I will try out the cover stitch features of the Triumph in the near future. If you’d like, I can let you know how an old lady (me) deals with the learning curve. I live with and help my 90-year-old mom, but I do squeeze in time to sew/serge when possible. At SOME point, I will be going through the manual for the Triumph, including the cover stitch feature. Love your videos-keep up the good work! The videos are full of good information.

I got the Bernette B68 Combo, easy to switch modes. I am Montrealer living in Israel. To add, I thought of getting a Janome combo 3000, but saw No Knife in the user manual online. So for just a bit more money, I got the Bernette. It has same stitches as L890...Just not computerized. The L890 cost 3 times and Amazing. Maybe has more accessories for the price.😂

I love your videos, your helping me learn how to make jeans. I have a tip for you with regards to your mic. I have the same one. You should try to point it towards you more, with the flat line in the middle. You will get better sound!
@Thelaststitch3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tip and I'm aware 🙂 but I tilt it down because I find having the mic in the picture kinda intrusive, but maybe the sound suffers to much from this?

Many thanks Johanna, this is a Very interesting tutorial 👍🏻 (as all the ones you put on line). I bought your book “Master the Coverstitch Machine” it is very thorough and helps me a lot mastering my Bernina coverstitch, you have helped me reconcile with it. Thanks for your hints. I am always looking forward to your videos. Please do not worry about you English, it is perfect. I am Canadian 🇨🇦 but living now in the south of France, and I like listening to english which I feel I am loosing short of speaking it anymore. 😘🌸

Thank you Maryse for your kind and encouraging words, and I'm so happy to hear that my book helped you reconcile with your coverstitch! I do get overly worried about my English, because i want to always make a professional delivery even though it just me and my messy desk doing the livestreams 😊, so hearing this from you means a lot!

Just bought the Janome cover stitch pro 3000…. So found you when looking for more info on use….. I have 4 other Janome (different functionality) it is my preferred machine & a 1034 Brother serger…. Looking forward to trying your “wooly nylon?” thread…. After watching 40min or so of this video, looked & decided your book would be a big help in my learning curve for this! I really enjoy you videos…. A lot of helpful info, nerdy is NOT a problem! 😉. I sew for personal use & enjoyment. I’ve been sewing for about 60 years and things out today…. I’m in awe of! The Janome 3000 does come with the clear foot, but, cringed at the price of the binding foot.. is it worth it? I have binding foot for other machines…. But the $265…. For a “foot” is hard to swallow!

Hello, thank you for all your comments and input to your channel. I would like to know YOUR opinion on which cover stitch machine would you purchase cost not to exceed $1000. I've been considering Juki and Bernette. I have been sewing hundreds of years. Have 2 Bernina sewing machine Janome, Singer, Featherweights, Elna Lotus, well too many, but experienced sewer. Not on the coverstitch though. I do not want one of the combination serger/coverstitch. I have more than one serger, Bernina, and White. I love sewing on natural fabrics and trying to make myself become proficient on sewing knits.

I'm planning to buy your book from Amazon. Got my cover stitch 2000cpx Janome. It's was awesome till I ran into a problem. When I finish my sewing and pull my threads forward and the fabric toward the back, there are lots of threads holding it back. I have to open the bottom and release the looper and then i can get the threads that are stuck under the feet. Tried rethreading needles and looper but continues to hold the fabric. What am i doing wrong?

Hello, I hoped the stream gave you the answer 😊 In general, if you sew stretchy knits regulary , the coverstitch will be a gamechanger, especiallyy for hemming and necklines. For other projects I think a sewing machine will suffice
