Excellent job with the bunny Al, I saved a young bird this summer that was wedged in the metal frame of my windmill it’s a good feeling when they come to.......it took my dude hours but he got up little by little and ended up flying away. Loved the throwback Indy footy as well🤝

Hey Allyn, Just wanted to let you know I started watching your channel around three years ago. You have been a big help, I started with weeds and more weeds and some bare spots no grass and now fall of 2019 it looks amazing. Your channel isn’t the only I watch but it was the first and one thing that I’m proud to say that I listened to you was not to do a renovation leave the weeds and start building turf and slowly work the weeds out it really worked. I still have a few weeds but by spring I hope to be weed free and I’m very proud of my yard. Thank you

I’ve been a subscriber and watcher of your channel for almost eight months now. I finally stumbled across this vid where you slowly and clearly described the ratio for Nitrogen rates and I finally get it! ( yeah…I’m a bit slow….only eight months to get it). I lost 80% if my Turf grass lawn this summer (in north Atlanta) because of the heat and general conditions of my yard and grass seed that went down last fall (crappy seed). I did all my own work this year and used your vids and app to select the seed, fertilizers and overall “how to” and it’s all starting to come back. In short, just thank you for passing your knowledge on to us to become lawn care nuts like you!

Well I know you are busy doing great work......So I called site one and for northeast grasses as long as the ground is not frozen yet(their words) and my lawn still looks greenish(my words for you ...Allyn) ....not dormant....a good slow release is fine. Site One recommends a 18-0-12 they have but I am going with the LCN's advice and going High on the Nitro.....so Scott's has this: Scotts Turf Builder Winter guard Fall Lawn food- 32-0-10........Note lawn FOOD!!!!! Once again great tips from Allyn. Thx for that bro. I was always under the assumption that high nitrogen late in the season for cool season grass types would push growth in the colder months hence putting the lawn at risk of getting damaged. Your tips have always been right so i will put the winterizer down. Still fairly "warm" approx 50 Fahrenheit here in Germany.

Great video, thanks for breaking down the math. I do have a question trying to understand a little bit better. The bag say it covers 5,000 sq ft. According to my measurements to my yard I have just a little over 15,00sq ft. so I need 3 bags or maybe just a little more. Now if I do 3lbs of N, would I need more bags if fertilizer to get the right amount? Thanks

I love math and another way you can explain how to get the "pounds in the ground" is take you amount you want and divide it by the percentage of nitrogen. For example, goal of 1 lbs of N ÷ .32 = 3.125 lbs of product.
@vaanes5 жыл бұрын
I think an interesting topic would be how to factor in mulched leaves when applying fertilizer. I get a TON of leaves that I mulch into my lawn and I’m never quite sure how much nitrogen gets tied up in those carbon-heavy mulched leaves.
