Thanks for the video, Alex. I am subscribed to border security and hope to see you. The Mandarin cabin announcement caught me by surprise. I think other airlines and loyalty card holders use that lounge to justify its size yet Qantas flies twice daily from HKG. They might have plans for more frequencies in the future, who knows?

Most of the time i heard Mandarin announcement. Sometimes it's Cantonese. Depends on the crew i guess. It's very disappointing to see QF only fly directly to HKG from MEL and SYD. They should resume BNE, PER or even ADL. But i guess they have their focus on the European and North America side more than Asia now. Plus they are so heavily focus on Sydney and ignore the fact that Australia is more than just Sydney.

Thank you for the video mate! I did not realize that Qantas has such a good lounge, here in Austria the airline has not the best reputation. Is Qantas not flying to Australia via Dubai anymore? My colleague went from Vienna to Auckland via Dubai and Sidney a few years ago. It was booked as an Emirates flight, but was operated by Qantas. Enjoy your visit in Melbourne 😉

As of October 2024, there are just 2 direct flights that operate by Qantas between Australia and Hong Kong, they are QF29/30 (Melbourne to Hong Kong) and QF127/128 (Sydney to Hong Kong), am I correct? And by the way, currently there are no direct flights that operate by Qantas between Australia and Mainland China, is that correct?

Back pre-covid QF have more flights to HKG, including 2 daily to SYD (one being an A380) and to BNE. Dont think the lounge was opened yet when they had their LHR flights. It is also the preferred choice of lounge for certain airlines including Air France, JAL and Starlux for their premium customers. Finally QF gets paid when say CX/EK customers get into the QF lounge pending on their agreement. This is my lounge to go as footprint traffic is usually at a minimum pending on the hours you visit, and the views are the best for sure.

I loved the time when 3 Qantas aircraft lines up at HKG every evening, A380 to SYD and two A330s to MEL & BNE. Then another flight to SYD follows, operated by a combination of A330 and 747-400. Hope QF can make this kind of presence again at HKG.

Watching this from the UK well Qantas is not one of the airlines I would use even if I came to Australia which I have no desire to do so. Well just as well you had some good food and drink before you got on the plane. That food you were given it looked like some form of Vegan /Veggie which did not look that appetising and breakfast was a joke. Hope you enjoyed that food.

I crossed paths as kids with Messi after he played his first match in FCB (I was going to school in Barcelona and was sharing some training field with the Barcelona youth) and I met Ronaldo in person twice and the second time he even remembered me because I said something silly the first time 😃 I find them both incredible.. But happy Ronaldo remembered what I said the first time 😝
