Correction, Elephants aren't afraid of mice they are afraid of stepping on them. They show that they do not want to cause harm to other creatures especially furry ones. They actively view the ground while walking anywhere to make sure they do not step on and destroy small life.

@@e-cuauhtemoc Check out the recent discoveries. Even the official reports have been published. The basis of aryan invasion was that the vedic culture and sanskrit was not indigenous to india and was brought by foriegners the so called aryans. Rakhigarhi is currently the largest indus civilisation site and the genetics dont match that of the aryan genes. The keezhadi or keeladi site in south presents the same symbols used by harappans to write. That proves that civilisation in south was present at the time of indus civilisation. It was not the case that foreigners pushed the people towards south. Also archaeological society of india has recently siggested that mahabharat war took place at an earlier date of 2100 to 1500 bce, instead of what was proposed earlier. And the proposed date of aryan invasion/migration is around 1100 bce. So, the aryan invasion is being torn apart bit by bit. You just have to check out the recent news reports. ASI yet have to publish the official report. But they have declared that much. I can tell you many sources for my claim about the myth. But this comment you get really long.

Some corrections. He is considered the remover of obstacles and elephants were used in ancient times to remove obstacles during construction of dams etc. He has features of an animal as well as the divine, reflecting what we humans have too. He holds sweets in one hand and an elephant goad ( the tool used to push elephants ). Meaning he gives us what we ask for in moderation ( sweets ) while also gently pushing us toward what we actually need. The story of him going round his parents shows his wisdon even without the fruit. Shiva and Parvathi are considered the Mother and Father of the Universe, and going round them would equate to going around their creation. There was nothing manipulative about it.

Today I have something to share with everyone about Lord Ganesha. As I was sleeping last night, I thought of him and viewed his picture. And there , I saw what is the deep and true meaning of Lord Ganesha. His shadow, stands for, don't forget your loved ones, his legs stepping on earth stands for he is the creator. His nice clothes stands for, appreciate what you are given . not everyone is blessed with it ,his belly is not huge because he eats too much but it teaches us how to digest all good and bad , his blessings bring us happiness, the sweet dish on his hand teaches us how to appreciate what we are getting instead of doing 'uff' to the food. His long tusk is also the shape of a fish which teaches us that he is the creator of the water and the fish too since he also loved the water so much. He has a small mouth and it teaches us that we should talk less , his small eyes teach us that we should concentrate more , his huge ears are the shape of a moon and this makes him the son of the lord of the universe and it also teaches us to listen more too, he broke his tusk to bring knowledge in the world , he has an elephant head , this doesn't tell us of the way the father chopped the head , but it teaches us that there are lots of handicapped people and people with body misshapes they should not feel offended. He teaches us that you are perfect the way you are. He has a snake around his belly which teaches us that you should always be kind to all animals. Poisonous animals can also help you during difficult times and lastly , he has the rat as his vehicle, it teaches us that however small the animal , respect it. It can take you miles and sometimes be a sign of goodluck.( this is just my thoughts as I saw the picture. )

The symbolism of Ganesh is universal and quite powerful. Ganesh is associated with the Om the primordial sound. He is invoked at the beginning of every hindu ritual and is worshipped first before any endeavor. He is the one who grants success and failure. The crown represents his being the supreme Creator. All gods are one God in most hindu traditions. His elephant head represents wisdom and intelligence as elephants are highly intelligent and social animals. His ears are large in that he hears all is aware of all our needs. The trishul on his brow represents his transcendence of the three gunas like Shiva. The three lines represent his dominance over the three worlds of creation. His axe represents his ability to remove all obstacles from our path. The noose represents the obstacles he puts in our path for learning and growth. The single tusk represents his non-duality, he is Shiva and Shakti both embodied. Thus represents the manifestation of both power and consciousness. The hand outstretched represents his willingness to bless and protect all beings. The bowl of treats represents that he wishes us to enjoy life while we follow our dharma. It should always be joyful. The potbelly represents that he contains the entire universe. The yellow pants represent his active power in all things mastery of will and mind. The mouse represents that even the smallest things in nature are a manifestation of the divine. His birth by shakti or raw energy made from the filth washed off of Ma represents the animal nature of man. His blocking Shiva represents how the lower nature or ego is an obstacle to moksha. The trishul trident that Shiva beheaded him with represents that the ultimate obstacle is overcome by transcending the three gunas. His death represents the death of the little self and his endowment of the elephant head represents his attaining enlightenment. Ganapataye means lord of hosts or lord of communities but also lord of all divisions. It represents his mastery over all creation. He is the amalgamation of both the divine feminine and masculine and thus the divine made manifest in creation.

Before even knowing that Ganesha existed or ever seeing it before; i saw him or her during my first DMT trip. But it wasn't wearing a crown and didn't have a body. Just an elephant head with jewels embedded in the forehead (purple, green, red). Also the walls turned to glittering gold and it was a beautiful experience. I felt like I was in the presence of God. As a Christian and believing in Jesus this whole experience has opened my mind to the probability of more than one God existing. Before my trip I had never learned about or saw Ganesha because in American culture and school it would be unusual to learn about Shiva or any other Hindu Gods. Personally I believe that Ganesha had shown itself to me and the DMT was my portal to the spiritual world.

I am a Hindu. I think there is lot of hidden symbolism behind all deities description in our ancient texts. Here the depicted pictures are artist's thought/creativity, the truth may beyond this. Lots of false interpretation are there in current society. People are giving importance to someone's(not the real author's) thought through these photos and continues following it.

Yes. People are missing the point by looking at artistic dipiction of ancient texts. These were meant to guide the people but the masses want the easy path so they just started worshiping. I love Ganesha, he's one of the Gods in my pantheon whom I've worked with. He's kind, has a bright spirit, and yet is also fiercely protective. He's come to my aid a few times now, and I usually end up offering him cannabis, gulab jamun (usually the sweets he's holding, based on what I've read on him), or even money (he seems to enjoy the weed and sweets more xD a God I can REALLY relate to lol)

Hey, I recently discovered the God Ganesh. I’ve been saying the mantra “Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha Shririam Ganesha.” I feel super connected to the divine creation of Ganesh and want him to guide my life. I am very interested in the topic but it is a bit hard to find good information on the topic. Do you mind sharing the readings where they explain the connection between Ganesh and Cannabis? I know Shiva is heavily connected to weed, but wanted more insight on how Ganesh is. I also love weed and have been smoking it before meeting Ganesh. Learning that Ganesh likes cannabis makes me so intrigued. Thanks in advance, and have a great day. Namaste

While in a meditation with a group, there were some of us who saw Ganesha, and he stated that he was here to help in these most unusual times. The Ganesha that we saw was bright pink, and he was draped in a bright green. None of us knew anything about Ganesha since were are not Indian or Hindu. We have asked Ganesha to removed or solve difficult tasks for us, and within hours they are removed. This has happened repeatedly.

The last story about circumventing earth was also depicted in wrong light. Lord Kartikeya mocked Lord Ganesha that he is fat and unworthy. Lord Kartikeya had won several wars and felt nothing can surmount strength. When put forward the challenge to circumvent earth he put in all his strength whereas Lord Ganesha did smart work instead of hard work because technically Shiva and Parvati are manifestation of Matter and Energy and Earth is made up of them. Together they form the Universe. This story teaches us to not jump to conclusion and that wisdom is the greatest strength.

Too many problems in the video that arose out of the necessity to take shortcuts. Parvati is literally all life, as she is the purest manifestation of Devi or the Goddess principle. So injuring a even a cat ends up injuring her. Ganesha circumnavigated his parents because his parents are literally the male and female principle of the world and together they make up the whole world. So it wasn't impishness or filial piety, it was understanding the nature of existence. These are a few. Myths tend to have a lot of different interpretations but they should align with the parent culture.

Correction: Kuber (the God of wealth) story, that story is bit different as it was Kuber in his Pride decided to Challenge Lord Shiva (God of destruction) who was known to shower his Devotees with any boon they want but he himself use to roam as Sage with minimal Clothing, So Kuber decided to teach Shiva a lesson about wealth he went to Invite him to his Castle But Shiva being one of the Supreme God knows about Kuber's Plan he rejected Kuber invitation but after much request of Kuber he send Ganesh with him but he also warn Kuber about Ganesh appetite but Ganesh being no older than a small child Kuber took that warning lightly when THE feast began Ganesh ate everything in Kuber's reserve but when Kuber was unable to satisfy Ganesh's Hunger that Angered Ganesh and he destroyed Kuber's Castle and Gardens. Scared Kuber went To Shiva and Prayed him to Stop his Son after making Kuber Realise his Mistake Parvati (Mother of Ganesh ) Presented Kuber With a bowl of Rice,Kuber in disbelief asked Parvati if it was a Joke but Parvati assured that this would satisfy Ganesh's hunger and it did, and after Ganesh came to his senses and saddened by the destruction he caused in his rage Blessed Kuber......

' Yeah she was upset but the reason anything got done is because she's so powerful that she was destroying the entire universe in her rage. Give the woman her due, she freaked out every single God in the pantheon and They begged to have the head restored to the boy. If you're going to retell the stories show some respect the females in the pantheon, eh?

I mean, cool, its her rage she found ganesha's head chopped off that made people scurry around for a head, but I think we understand what happened. What you want is a overexaggerated commotion over a detail that knew that a cherished thing can upset a powerful being. I see your "rage" about it, but i think theres no point in waving a finger at people who are trying to be modestly moderate with the story.

Excellent video! It would have been interesting to hear his place in the Jain and Buddhist cosmology too, since they exist alongside and are practiced and revered simultaneously to the Hindu cosmology. Wasn't Lord Ganesha also one of the Buddha's friends and protectors as he journeyed the land seeking wisdom? Did not Ganesha assume a place as Vinakya, the Buddha's protector? He is after all the god of wisdom and success.

@@pritsingh9766 nor do i understand why Hindu Ultra Nationalists have absolutely no idea how history and society actually developed beyond their own insistence that "Hindus achieved everything alone". Firstly, I'm not Buddhist mate. These gods are revered by Buddhists because they are the gods of the Buddhist tradition too. Essentially Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism are exactly the same tradition? Because centuries of Hindus and Buddhists have practiced both traditions simultaneously, from Ashoka, through the Gupta Dynasty, the Majapahits, the Palas, the Tibetan Empires, Chinese and Japanese Buddhism? Maybe learn something that might be accepted fact in a modern, secular university, before letting your Hindu nationalist sense of superiority get the better of you. Just a tip.

I can explain that to you, without being rude and such in earlier years pre-Buddism many Hindu kings from India ruled over many parts of southeast Asia and China to an extent Buddhism is technically a side branch of Hinduism as Buddha himself according to some Hindu scholars is depicted as the 9th incarnation of Vishnu why is Vinayaka a protector of the buddha because there is a correction the first person to get Ganesh a replacement head was Vishnu, not the demons or shiva. Vishnu adored Ganesha he is technically a god-father for Ganesha and uncle as well. if you see in Hindu stories sometimes even Vishnu calls Parvati as his sister so you can see how it goes. so it's common in every Asian religion you can see Ganesha was one of the main gods since all have the same basis of Hinduism (all belief in Nature). Many times you see even in Vishnu stories that his incarnations are a devotee of Shiva and shiva's incarnations are a devotee of Vishnu. Well, Hinduism stories are quite long so it takes a while to explain actually.

@@xenzorygames4116 No, you have a very obviously Hindu nationalist belief that everyone and everything within India must subscribe to your beliefs and ideals. But like any Hindu nationalist, you subscribe to a warped telling of history. You're also laughably incorrect. It's no stretch to explain that Buddhism did emerge from a background of Hindu culture. That's where Buddha was born and raised. But it doesn't prove your point. Also, Hindu kings from India never ruled in Southeast Asia and China. You need to relearn your history. Hinduism and Buddhism reached Southeast Asia by maritime trade around the 1st century CE. These Empires were ruled by native dynasties. Buddhism is well recorded as having reached China by the Silk Road. The only Indian King is the legend of Ashoka's son becoming King of Khotan, which is almost certainly apocryphal. Even your explanation is absurd: "according to some Hindu scholars Buddha is depicted as the 9th incarnation of Vishnu". That doesn't prove Buddhism is a side branch of Hinduism. It just proves that some Hindus like to presume they own Buddhism. But it has a similar level of logic as a Chinese Taoist professor explaining that some of the Indian deities emerged around China, so Hinduism is actually Taoism. But that's untrue. Buddhists don't teach this as part of their creed, so it's simply absurd that you would state that this proves your point. And Buddhists don't have any obligation to accept it. Hindus don't have the right to speak for Buddhists (or Jains, or Sikhs), who do follow many Hindu precepts but teach many different ideas. This is the same as Jews, Christians and Muslims don't speak for each other. It's simply absurd. Nothing you're saying proves anything more than you're a Hindu nationalist.

@@TheSamuraijim87 I never said I was a Hindu nationalist in the first place and I never said Hindu's own Buddism I do not know why you are taking it that way. because only the northern part of India is actually thought to the world the Chola dynasty conquered parts of Thailand, Srilanka, even south Indian princesses ruled south Korea and Japan for over 40 years it is even considered that some dynasties had Indian blood in them as well. even the largest temple in the world is built in Combodia originally made for lord shiva now became a Buddist Temple after long years even that temple was built by a king of the Chola dynasty which most of the north Indians do not even consider since most of northern India was ruled by Iranians and afghans so it isn't considered as a rule for you I guess Hindu's usually do not destroy cultures and traditions like Islamic rulers and Christian Rulers do I just said they had shared Gods and some had extended history for Example Hanuman and Sun Wukong is considered the same because the story happened after Ramayana and even Buddha is considered as the 9th incarnation of Vishnu.

Another interpretation of why Ganesh did what He did was to get His father's attention. Shiva was always the aloof, absent Father. In this story on one side was all the material wealth in the world and on the other was His Father with a bowl of oats & nothing else. And He chose his Father. This syncs with His rebellious yet entangled relationship with Shiva. Also, syncs with the story of Kartik & Ganesh on their respective journeys around the universe. Kartik took His peacock & went around the universe while Ganesh just walked around His Father & Mother. That story displays His intelligence and where He focuses His good will. Home. Family. Prosperity in unity of home & family.

Ganesha:- Look through the perspective of pure quantum physics and then it really starts to make more sense. It’s regarding co-creating with the Universe. Do we have the power to co-create with the Universe and if so how do we interact with the Universe regarding this co- creation. We can do this with our ego, doing this gives us results but tainted with so much corruption that it’s a poisoned chalice. We can co-create with the Universe but in this play “myself” is not the driving force but must fully understand that ego and its needed but one has to be aware and grow above it but not let it control it but use it to serve the Universe to deliver the Universe creation but the person is co-creating it with the Universe to deliver the result not poisoned but pure. So where does Ganesha fits into this play. He when the co-creation is pure, removes the obstacles that existed before one started this journey and fold the time (since time is relative not linear) thus delivering the dream into reality by creating the matter which now becomes to exist in the material world itself. So one connects to the unmanifested reality of the universe (dark matter) and co-create the reality in the material world. Ganesha will remove the obstacles and deliver the reality but what is delivered is based on how one truly participated with the Universe in the co-creation. It’s still quantum physics because in the past, present and future; Newtonian physics vs Quantum physics; matter is a wave and a matter; all the Dravidian Gods/Goddesses comes into play and existence. I deliberately didn’t call it Hinduism. Because when they were discussed and written down it wasn’t called religion. It was a science. What the Dravidians of the Subcontinent said was this is what the universe looks like. You the observer decided if a creator exists. They left that decision regarding if a creator existed or not to the individuals. But they delivered what they discovered in quantum physics etc in the form of the Gods and Goddess of what we call Hindu religion
