In Rig Veda, hymn 2.23.1. Siva Purana, Rudra Samhita - Kumara Khanda, chapter-13 describes birth of Ganesha. In multiple kalpas, Ganesa evolved differently. Therefore, There will be Different Stories in Each Kalpa About his Origins. In present Sweta Varaha Kalpa, his head was cut off by Siva.

In some other video Sadhguru said the reason for cutting the head is to give enlightenment because the boy is behaving ignorantly. and for many people if they are receptive during the last moment of death they would get enlightened.
