The reason why Arthur's sword is so emphasized in these stories is because swords were rare and difficult for blacksmiths to make, especially in this era of 5th-6th century. Usually only people of power had swords as status symbols. Swords were fairly useless in battle. Spears, pikes and lances are way more OP.
@BabaYaga710IL4 жыл бұрын
Dithaingam Panmei only problem with that statement is romans used swords for battle, Steel just would have been very hard to come by in the 5th-6th centuries and so Iron was mostly used is a proven fact by long broad swords which were iron and used by many knights who were strong enough and experienced enough to used them otherwise simple iron sword were used for swift strong attacks because of their speed. King Arthur’s sword as far as I know has always been described as a engraved steel alloy sword with a gold plated handle and guard. That steel alloy is going through any piece of armor you put up against it because steel ally in the 5th century was like finding the holly grail. Last time I checked it was the 3rd or 4th strongest metal in the word and good luck finding any of it enough to make a sword let alone anything else other than a ring.

I have to admit, in my opinion Merlin did sort of orchestrate Arthur's rise, he may have been purified of his evil nature, but he is still half demon, him being at least a bit shady should be expected.

I've never heard anything about him being half demon, just that he was a Pagan. Anyone who wasn't a Christian was considered a Pagan and that is still true to today according to some Christians.

I enjoy this sort of thing, my favorite version being Maty Stuarts series,as seen through the eyes of Merlin, which dispenses with most of the hocus pocus of other versions,in her version Merlin has the strongest claim to the crown of anyone, as the son of Uther's older brother, and high king before Uther. The follow on book from Mordred's eyes is very interesting as well.

Ok .. humm' are you king author now goose'... ..ya... Or who knows first knight was one my old nick names as kids but idk... The True story is just alittle different,,, after during a catclism that happened few hundred years AD...fire in the sky" so such part of Revelations mabe idk, Great Britain was abandoned for awhile full of dangers and deth aka" The Dark Ages" so the king had left the land that was starving and full in kayos' with his armoured guard they battled there way to the docks and boarded two different ships, and set sail, they went south and ended up somewhere Brittany I think it was, and so eventually some other fella came in there and clamed to bethe king of great Britain...the magic sord in the stone was found in a river or underwater, from dryed up lake bed, and so a decendent of true King Author was found and some of the original knight's helped the true ruler of the throne become king again, just from his birth right' ...and this was kinda there heroic story that came from this part of history into legend's fact and fiction and back again' saying olny' he could pull the sord from the stone hummm... wizard's,,, Roam concurred them Great Brittan ya' they were winning every battle somehow ... Beowolf was a different carecter than King Author...

Arthur was not king of Englamd. England did not exist as a concept in Arthur's time. He was also a Briton not an Angle or a Saxon, the former race giving their name to the country. Malory is not spelt with double "l". You don't have a clue!
