I am a security guard, who works nights. Been doing it for 14 years, and yes, I've often had those feelings and thoughts. There was one building do swear was haunted. It was an office building. Wasn't even that old in terms of structures. Built in 1998. But when I KNOW I was all alone, sometimes I would hear phantom doors in the building, or sometimes the elevators would operate themselves. And no matter where I went, I felt watched. Like more than just the cameras, like a presence watching me.

Hospital night shift here. Everyone I've known to work this shift - or the adjacent ones - has had strange things happen. Human humming in empty rooms. Closed fire doors (heavy!) opening just a few inches, sitting open with nobody behind them, then falling shut. People walking past workstations when NO doors into the area opened. Footsteps walking just behind you with no coworkers to be seen. Small objects being thrown from their place to clatter ten feet across the floor, luckily never any breakables. Never seemed to be hostile, but never seemed to have a pattern, either. If the place is haunted and we aren't having a fit of mass hysteria, I don't think it's CONTINUOUSLY haunted, if you catch my drift. Don't think anyone's still clinging to the morgue just down the hall, by the feel of it.

I used to work security for a closed down secure facility. when their badge system started dying and glitching out it would report random user swipes occasionally. So imagine you're sitting in an abandoned building, supposed to be entirely alone, and you see "user Sarah J has swiped into secure room 123" pop into the door log

This sort of reminds me of an incident I had at one of my first jobs after college. I was in a back room installing some grounding equipment for volatile chemical storage, completely engrossed in my work. So much so that I didn't notice everyone calling an early day, locking up, and leaving; having apparently forgotten that I was in that back room. When I finished the job I walked out into a completely empty building, confused as all get out. I started walking throughout the building trying to find someone, unknowingly setting off nearly every silent motion alarm in the building. I finally called my manager to ask where everyone was (this manager is the one whose phone would be absolutely exploding with calls from the security company about the alarms I was setting) and after hearing that I was still at work he could only muster the response "Oh God dammit".

The police car just sitting outside empty is actually such an unexpectedly spooky visual. The fact that it’s emergency lights aren’t on make it worse actually. I’m super super interested in emergency and disaster response and that colors how I enjoy horror in a lot of ways. Like in an odd way my favorite part of say a zombie movie or game is the part in the intro where you see a ton of ambulances and police cars go by but what’s going on hasn’t been revealed. One of my favorite examples of the feeling isn’t from horror at all, it’s the part in the third Harry Potter movie when it’s been discovered that Sirius Black has broken into Hogwarts and there’s this montage of them locking down the castle.

Like the forest itself is holding its breath and you feel like something really really bad is about to happen? That's the feeling I got at this moment. That suffocating dread, the feeling like you're not alone out here. The fact that you even saw a bird fly overhead makes me think "What is out here that such a usually loud bird is trying not to draw the attention of?"

I loved it, I loved walking home at 3-4 am. however, the staircase I cleaned was creepy, but other then that, even while working 3rd shift at a gas station. I loved it. I loved cleaning behind the dryers, and just zoning out and getting the job done. However, for me a dayshift is creepy. I love closed spaces, and the night. But sunny days, open spaces, now that to me is anxiety fuel.

This was a surprising vibe. I don't think the map has enough detail to nail down a meta-plot, but it looks like a simultaneous break-out by some sort of living subject and a break-in by a third party happened at the same time. The total lack of bodies makes more sense if you note that this place probably had to be cleaned up to an extent while all the barriers and barricades were set down (staff also likely wasn't armed, and the invaders presumably wanted to get something and leave). You are either some person wandering in or an investigator with a contact on that chopper. Of course, it's an RP map, so this is interpretation is purely based on this video.

13:29 You'd never be fully sure if you've wiped well enough. 16:52 At a bottleneck between inside and outside like a room between the two, it might be more windy than it seems once you go outside, where outside there may be little pressure differential. Some ventilation system may be creating that differential. 24:07 youtube decided to be glitchy the moment you opened the door and it took a few seconds later before I could even see what you were seeing. turned out to be nothing though. :p 25:51 you're not toxic as far as I know. :) 34:18 All those huge windows would be way too drafty to feel comfortable unless that place was running the heat really hard. you should explore one of the sosnovskoe maps. They're big and not particularly creepy but very atmospheric and there's a lot to see.

It is the stories you tell yourself that make the most effective horror but those stories don't come unbidden. It's not enough to give an empty soace and watch the players speculate aout why it's empty, the questions need to be prompted by effective set design. Little details here and there hinting that something happened or is happening leading the player to wonder what.

The scroll wheel on the left side is especially useful for sniping in games with changable zoom. Too bad the click on the scroll wheel doesn't work because it was handled by software. The buttons for back and forwards are also bindable in some games. I like to use them for maps and menus.

Little feedback: Try to do a deeper voice. Your voice gets very high-pitched and squeaky at times, and it clashes a lot with the ambient chill vibes of the maps you review. I try to keep my sound up to hear the ambience then I'll get an earful of you doing a piercing girly voice for no reason, it's like nails on a chalkboard. I don't get what's with men not sounding like men anymore these days. Must be something in the water.
@damianpalavecino30615 сағат бұрын
Well that's kind of not very nice, people don't choose how their voice sounds. Forcing his voice could be tiring and/or be harmful for his vocal cords (which isn't ideal since the guy does youtube) and would end up in him just sounding fake (the same as pyrocynical when he was faking his deep voice)
