I think my beef consumption has gone down for the simple reason that I used to buy really cheap steak ($3) and have it for dinner a few times a month, but then I made the mistake of buying a high quality steak at a restaurant, and it made me realize that the quality or lack there of wasn't worth being able to eat it more often. So I switched to like $6 steaks, and started eating them less often. I can't imagine paying $23 for a steak I have to cook myself though, although that would be reasonably cheap for a steak dinner at a restaurant in my country
