This is what Canon gets wrong, even when I was a boy I was very annoyed by the fact that quintillions of droids were shut down by that one signal, you think that the CIS would have multiple master switches to prevent this, like what if a spy ever got their hands on it?
@davidhong19346 жыл бұрын
To be honest, in the real world, we have water treatment facilities that can be hacked by anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of programming.
@codylujan6 жыл бұрын
i would assume that since palpatine was aware that the galactic empire was going to be taking over soon, they did have multiple switches, but he probably had a master code to even override those even if they got hacked by a spy. a code that only he knew. however, over time, confederate generals and admirals probably found a way around his master code or something. idk.
@Icetea-20006 жыл бұрын
Cody L But why would you have a shutdown code in your headquarters anyway? I get the idea, that you want to control the droid commanders from there who give it further down the military command line (like in any other army!) but it seems REALLY unrealistic that you can DIRECTLY control literally trillions of droids in the galaxy to idk, one single position I think avoiding a massive shutdown would be the first thing we would consider in our world when building a *ROBOT* army
@legorocketraccoon82976 жыл бұрын
The droids were given orders not just shut down but some droids went against the signal. General Kalani the tactical droid decided it must be a republic trick and ordered his troops to stay active. I think the idea of one place that could shut them all down was abandoned after the attack on Naboo but they did have a place that could sent signals or transmissions to them all.

There wasnt a good or a bad side in the clone wars. The separatists wanted to be free of the decaying republic, the republic in turn didnt want planets leaving the galactic republic fearing that its senate would be seen as "weak" and incompetent. When neither side came to a peaceful resolution. Darth Sidious set his plans in motion. He would feed the fears of both sides, and weaken them enough until he was sure that when we would overthrow the senate, neither side could opose against his imperial doctrine on a massive galaxy wide scale, the mass shut down Of the droids, count dookus death, the cerebral implants in the clones (order 66) all part of his plan that he played out for years with his true nature and intentions hidden under everybodys noses until it was far too late to do anything about it. @thomaslardinois63836 жыл бұрын
True, but that was for less than a day. I imagine something a little bigger. Picture a couple of confederate generals with their garrisons on the run at the time that the Empire is still mercilessly hunting down Jedi (they were kinda past that point in Rebels, sure they still kept an eye out for them but they weren't a priority). These generals come across a Jedi, perhaps long time rivals on the battlefield, but they realize that they are suddenly on the same side of the conflict. The separatists keep the jedi knowing that they will lead the Empire to them. The empire launches a full scale assault to crush the seperatists and capture the Jedi and... yeah... Basically that episode of Rebels but with more butthurt, conflicted separatists with actual feelings and a bigger battle between pseudo-stormies and droids. Something I'd like to see.

We only get the viewpoint of the separatists in a few episodes of the clone wars and the former separatist worlds are completely ignored except in the book Tarkin and the horrifying fate of Geonosys. We know that these worlds and aliens are repressed in general but there is no coverage on it. It is actually quite similar to real world systematic ethnic oppression going on in China (Xinjiang, Tibet) and other places most people only vaguely know about. I would like it to be addressed by the new Canon also more inclusivity for aliens would be appreciated. Thank you for making this video it is a definite step in the right direction.

I kind of wish that there were spin-off series that covered "What If" scenarios. Like what if Palpatine was discovered to be a Sith way before Episode 3, or what if Anakin didn't trust Palpatine enough to kill Windu, or what if the clones Disobeyed Order 66 En Masse, etc.

Zorastorm 32 Legends Clones were treated as war heroes and were highly decorated... in paradise worlds. Native Populations hated them because of an aggressive occupation policy from the Republic and Imperial governments, but citizens cannot do anything about them much less lynch them in fear of being executed.

Gizor Delso- the only Geonosian worth fighting in BF2...1. BF2-1? I'unno. Either way- the 501st Journal was one of the best FPS campaigns I've ever had the privilege of playing. To me, it was the Dawn of War 1 of FPS- something glorious, resplendent to behold. It was frustrating, always having to skirt the line of running out of reinforcements, terrifying when you realised "Wow, I might actually fail the mission if I die here!", and it was thrilling when you pulled through, and a new wave of AI-buddies dropped in to cover you while you did your job. The space battles might've been iffy, and could've been done better. Hero Battles could've had more done to them, and some of the missions were nightmarish to play at times- Line in the Sand, I'm glaring at you -but by god, that game was *worth* putting up with its flaws. To see it de-canonised, and relegated to the foggy mire of Legends, brings a metaphorical tear to my eyes, even if we got TCW in exchange. The BF series were my introduction to Star Wars as a franchise. I'd seen the films, but I'd never really embraced them as a greater thing until I'd played BF1 and 2 with my brother on the PS2. I'd never felt such frustration and joy at a game until I'd played Rogue Squadron 2 on the Gamecube- god bless you, you beautiful bastard -and I'd never felt that level of achievement, of satisfaction at completing a game until I'd finished them both.

OnionBoy * The thing is that the separatists were the good guys. They had a functioning council and were little worlds/outer rim worlds which had to pay high taxes to the republic but weren’t represented by the republic council which consisted of rich core planet people only thinking about themselves.

I love the CIS separatist, and was always curious what became of them after the clone wars, so much so that in a current GURPS game my character is a reactivated magnaguard on the hunt for the reminants of the separatist forces and refusing to give up the war despite it being 10 years after said war ended.

It’s so sad the separatists were pawns the rebel’s were so stupid for not trying to build new droid armies . They could have done a bit better against the empire

@ianbailey65926 жыл бұрын
But droids didn't work with the Rebels strategy. They were so slow and meant to be deployed in mass, but the empire could already do that and be better at it since their soldiers could think and adapt. Rebellion forces were focused on highly mobile, hit and run operations.

That was one interesting story! It sounds very familiar because it could happen in real life when as a war is ending there can be remnants and holdouts of a certain foe! I do wonder about the Imperial Holdouts still out there in the galaxy in Canon in the time period before the Sequel Trilogy. I’m sure in time, we could do a comparison of both Imperial Holdouts and Seperatist holdouts in those different Star Wars eras. Thanks, Mr. Lore Master.
