Fun fact: in one of the first drafts for Empire Strikes Back, Yoda was supposed to lift a 2001 Honda Civic from the swamp. The scene was changed to Yoda lifting Luke's starfighter plane instead.

Thank you for posting. I forgot all about this source. I never understood this story. So how would the University know that Dagobah was a nexus of the force? The Jedi archives didn't even know about it. Ok, maybe somehow they were the only ones who had that info hidden away somewhere. But I could never believe that that info contained a rumor of a powerful Jedi living there. How would anyone know that? According to the story the historian is the only guy to find him. Even then Yoda never used his powers or revealed to anyone his abilities or who he was until he absolutely had to. If it were true, it would mean Yoda wasn't hidden very well and at least one other person knew there was a Jedi on Dagobah and it wouldn't take much for more people like the historian to search him out. In that event, Yoda would have to move someplace else or reveal himself. Plus, no one knew he was even alive or where he went to after Order 66 and the Empire was actively searching for him. It is not even said whether Kenobi or Bail Organa knew of his location before there deaths. It always just seemed like a plot conceit to get this historian to where the story needed to go instead of the guy stumbling on the planet and discovering this strange being Yoda by the will of the Force. That was a more believable scenario for me when I read this for the first time.

Yaknow, legends has some really great stories sometimes. I like this argal guy. He had a genuine respect for history, so much so he'd even not tell of the location of Yoda to anyone, going as far as to destroy those old top secret files, in order to preserve history, and to preserve the story of the jedi. This is my kinda researcher. So many people lack a respect for history these days, and it drives a student of history such as myself, completely nuts. Absolute idiots in the political field diluting the historical meaning behind what they say. That drives me even more nuts. I suppose that's why i can relate to argal. I also like how he named the mountain, "mount Yoda." It just seems all too fitting. And i wish there was a canon equal to argal. What a fella.
