The key point im making is the council clearly knew about the challenges that anakin presents, but instead of planning or preparing contingencies and steps to make him a better jedi and in extension person, they stuck to their guns and lead a lezefair policy and not only allowed him to develop bad habits and troubling situations and don't even council him on matters. I mean if I was a leader of an order and have a potential child of prophecy at my doorstep I would atleast monitor him and when certain events, like marrying padme, I would atleast have a discussion and tread carefully about it. @@MCsCreations Actually, I was talking about when Yoda said to Obi Wan "there is another..". Obi Wan and Yoda knew that Leia was a Skywalker too, but they didn't train her because she kinda "had" a family, and some monks telling her that her true father was killed by Darth Vader would not motivate her to be trained to defeat Vader. That's why, according to my theory, when Yoda said "No. There is another..", he was referring to Anakin, because he knew that he was going to be turned to the light side eventually (remember, the movie is called "The Return of the Jedi"). But how did he know? Well, Yoda was living on Dagobah for a while, and he had already met and talked to Qui Gon there during TCW era. So Qui Gon must've told Yoda that Anakin is indeed the chosen one and that he will bring balance to the force no matter what. It is kinda explained in episode III why yoda did what he did. Lets remenber Yoda fought in the clone wars, but all he did was serve the schemes of Siduoius. The sith plan totally outplayed the Jedi and they ended up being just pawns in the SIth grand plan. the Jedi and Yoda realized he need to actually think a way out, not by fighting but by finding where and when to fight. After comfronting Sidious, Yoda rialized if he cant outright defeat him right then and there, in the senate building, he would need a new strategy, and he had no clue whatsoever how he would pull it out. He went to exile to meditate and try to understand the will of the force and how, when and with who, the balance could be achived again. Why the force allowed the Jedi to be blind by the sith and how to fight without being just pawns again.

I would say so. I think Dooku would beat him, since IMO he's the best duelist in the galaxy during the clone wars. I think Mace is slightly stronger in the force, but not by very much. And yes, since Dooku rarely actually uses the dark side, or his emotions when fighting, Vaapad would be ineffective
@OtterTreySSArmy3 жыл бұрын
@@luitjenapol2815 Dooku wasn't the best duelist, obviously that was Anakin by that point. Since ya know, Anakin overpowered and outfenced him in the end. @luitjenapol28153 жыл бұрын
@@OtterTreySSArmy No, Dooku was still the best duelist. Dooku was supposed to lose that fight. And even if he wasn't, it wouldn't change too much. Dooku's fighting style just doesn't clash well against Anakin's. Dooku uses form 2 Makashi, which relies on gaining momentum and using combinations to beat opponents. We can see this form be an advantage against Obi-Wan and his defensive style, who honestly is the 2nd best duelist at that point IMO, just above Anakin. But against Anakin, who uses form 5 Djem so, he has a hard time. Anakin's form relies on strength and just overpowering his opponent, which makes it hard for Dooku to gain momentum and use combinational attacks. Adding Anakin tapping into the darkside really doesn't help either. So that's why Anakin beat Dooku, but then again Dooku was supposed to lose that fight, so everything i said is sort of irrelevant. But if that wasn't enough to convince you it was their dueling style that matters, then why didn't Anakin destroy Obi Wan?

I think at the end of day that Yoda knew he simply wasn't strong enough to beat Sideous in a one-on-one fight. Yoda's biggest flaw was his hubris, and Palpatine took him down a peg.
@-Extra_Lives3 жыл бұрын
Stfu. Yoda would have been able to beat sidious on an even playing ground. Not only did they fight in a situation where sidious had an advantage, but even during the last part of the battle he was winning and even disarmed sidious. He simply gave up hope, if he had stayed and trained more jedi( like he should have) and attempted to remake the order in secret in the unknown regions they would've clapped the empire

@roytromb_strength3 жыл бұрын
This point was not made but I find it important. Maybe Yoda with a clearer view of the future in Dagobah knows that the best outcome is to have Vader come back to the light side and help destroy Palpatine. He knows that he would never be the one to help him back, he would probably push him further into the dark side. That’s why when Luke goes to face him without finishing his training Yoda and force ghost Obi contemplate training Leia “there is another one.” Another child of Vader that could help him in his redemption.

TLDR yoda is a tactical nuke I think another way of looking at it was Yoda was one of the few beings out there that had at least parity with Sidious. What that means is that neither could act with impunity. You could say that doesn't matter because Sidious had Vader to work through, but I think it is more accurate to say he HAD to work through Vader. Look at it this way, battles in the galaxy were won by who had the most firepower in the sector. For all the overall power the galactic navy had, they lost battles because the rebels had the intel and got the drop on them. If Sidious was free to leverage his considerable force powers chasing leads and consolidating power free of the specter of the galaxy's tiniest green asshole, he would have been able to accomplish so much more. But instead he had to do things quietly and /or through proxy, even as the emperor, because somewhere out there some tiny green asshole was waiting to stab him in the peepee the second he let his guard down. Yoda was threat just by his continued existence and secrecy that could check the emperor.

Just a question but what did the people think if they passed by when Mace Windu was fighting Darth Sidious.
@ryanatorryanson95353 жыл бұрын
The way I understand it, was the he went to Dagobah specifically because it was full of life but had no other higher level beings. He knew he couldn’t beat Sidious/Vader, and they would be hunting him down. He was nearing the end of his life and used the massive presence of the force there to help hide his presence and keep him alive long enough to train Luke, as he realized that the prophecy was really about Luke and not Anakin. That and the movies weren’t fully thought out and they just kind of went along with it.
@BenKim163 жыл бұрын
Probably cause he felt it was time to pass the torch. In a ‘what if’ type comic, Yoda with R2D2 basically enslaves Tarkin and take over the Death Star. Then he used said Death Star as if it was the moon in Majora’s Mask to crush Palpatine and the Jedi temple

A) Because Yoda is so powerful, that if he left Dagobah where he can hide in its Dark Side presence, every Inquisitor, Shadow Guard, and both Sith Lords can sense where he is and send a fleet of Star Destroyers to glass the planet or destroy the fleet he's on. B) Because he's getting old, by the time the Rebellion developed into a force that can challenge the Empire, he was already too old to fight and was at death's door. He wouldn't be much help in the battlefield outside of Battle Meditation, and even that would weaken him even further and make his death all the more imminent. C) Because he's shell-shocked from the Clone Wars and from 1000 generations of the Jedi sacrificing blood, sweat, and toil to defend democracy, only for the democracy they defended to turn on them. He's lost faith in democracy and fighting for it, because he saw how the very same Senate who benefited from the Jedi Order's protection turned on them in a dime. And now that same Senate has members controlling the Rebel Alliance. It's like if that skank who threw you out of the house, took your kids, and put a massive child support tab on your ass came back and begged for your help. You'd throw her out of your house and tell her to never come back. D) Because Yoda has seen how just fighting doesn't solve things. The Jedi Order during the Clone Wars used fighting to solve almost every problem, and it blew up on their faces. Hence why he's in hiding, meditating with the Force, trying to figure out where they went wrong.
