As a wolves fan I just want to say that watching Kat, after all he’s gone through personally, with the organization, with teammates and coaches, and with all the negative narratives he’s had to deal with, watching him be probably our best player in a game 7 to go to our 2nd ever WCF since KG 20 years ago, made me emotional. So damn happy for Kat

@@jonathandoliver1 I did watch the game, which is how I know Rudy was one on one with Jokic 9 times, allowing him to score 8 of those. Not good at all. But there were also over 100 possessions for the Nuggets that game, and Rudy played 40 minutes, while Jokic played 41. Most of the game was with Rudy roaming the paint playing free safety to deter shots. Yes, he was dogshit against Jokic. I'd be foolish to deny that. But Jokic was having one of those games where he just couldn't miss, no matter how well he was being defended. Besides, Rudy isn't a post defender. He's a shot blocker and paint intimidator. Jokic is a bad matchup for everyone, especially someone who is best used as a roamer

I think the match up was bad for Denver from the start. Jokic's best bet was actually the Gobert matchup because it removes the backline. Aaron Gordon standing in the dunker's spot left Gobert in his favorite position. Also, Minnesota is the only team with the length to guard the Jokic Murray inverted Pick and Roll. Overall, Minnesota was built for this matchup and they executed. The better team won this series.

An odd thing about this series is that the MOV across all 7 games was 19.4, with the closest game still three possessions (Game 1). The average game was decided by 20 points, yet at least we got a very good ending cap, although it was still a three possession game. For Edwards, he seems to be a playoff riser, as he was a merely decent, above-average player in the regular season, with a Net On/Off of +2.8, below-average when it comes to shooting efficiency, and a BPM of 3.3, which while nice, is not close to elite. Yet, through 11 games this postseason, he has an On/Off rating of +9.3, has raised his True Shooting percentage to a good mark of 62.4%, and his BPM is a great 8.4. He was not close to a great regular season player, but he has been elite this postseason.

You didn’t talk about the watchability of the sport, you made a posit about knowledge and the preferences of those who possess said knowledge. I do agree with you that it has made the sport less watchable, but it also made baseball less enjoyable to watch, and I say that as a baseball fan. They are “good” for baseball in the same way as they are for basketball: giving decision-makers the best information to make a determination on the best feasible course to take. that "5/12" for murray in the 2nd half is not the whole story. He shot like three 3's in the last 2 or so minutes of the game when it was basically already over and missed all of them.

Its Luka magic time. Feels like Wolves will try to make him play hero ball. He'll struggle early, but should settle into his rhythm and do some madness. IMO wolves might have a better chance in finals vs Celtics. The ultimate conundrum, to see my boy in the finals or to hate on the celtics and watch them get choked

So basically, you didn't watch any Timberwolves games at all this season. Wolves were in first place in the West for most of the season. Everyone knows the West is stacked. Wolves split with Nuggets in regular season and beat them at home, one of the only teams to do that. And yet, we get to the playoffs and somehow everyone is just stunned that the Wolves weren't a first round exit again. Wolves HAVE A TEAM. A lot of these other teams have 2-3 superstars and no bench or depth. For the wolves, everyone on the team has a role and they stick to it and trust each other to do their jobs. Nuggets had Jokic and Murray, and then.....???????

I was told that its not defense getting worse/limited but that players are just way too talented for defenses to stop as the reason for the huge spike in scoring so I'm wondering did the Monstars steal Phoenix and Nuggets talents?? Cuz it "definitely cannot be the Wolves defense" since you know the talent would be too good for defenses to stop

Just comes to show how players have to watch that “dynasty” word… Because what the hell are the defending champs doing losing two closeout games one by 45 and the other by blowing a 20 point lead in 7 minutes?

Obviously the Nuggets lost because they werent enough to win. But where do we think the problem lies. Jokic The starting five The bench The coach These are our options. The fact that they flip flopped between winning and getting stomped makes me think it was fatigue which makes me believe that its a weak bench.

I think your Celtics point is a little overblown. Yes, the front office's job is to get players that would help better the team, but the players that got them this far have been on the team for a minute now. Payton Pritchard has really stepped his game up, and Sam hauser has made the most of his minutes - though he could be a lot better. Jt, despite his offensive woes thus far until recently, has still shown growth from a facilitation and defensive perspective, etc. I think that with white, holiday, and KP you have players that can do specific things that the main core couldn't. You don't just develop a method of shooting over the top unless you are extremely gifted in height, and so on

At the end of the day, the buck stops with Jokic and he should get 80% of the criticism. Absolutely needs to be more assertive down the stretch - Murray and KCP have no business jacking up contested threes off DHOs. But the man put up 34/19/7 on solid efficiency, played arguably the best defense on his team last night, and consistently got his teammates open looks. Everyone not named Murray/Jokic shot 2/11 (18%) in the second half and 4/14 (28%) on open or wide open shots for the game. Not pointing fingers at any specific role player because they are in fact role players. But at least ONE of them has to play a solid game. Especially when the other team has 6 guys in double figures.
@roscoeorginal
@roscoeorginal 8 ай бұрын
80% is crazy when you give Jokic a lot of praise for doing everything right but his team failing. Jokic deserves criticism and I am not removing such criticisms away but the flow of the Denver Offense is completely shit if the role players aren’t hitting shots and being respected as a threat, which in return allows for Jokic to be double teamed more often.
@nickmonroe1133

@@roscoeorginal I don’t literally mean 80% but that’s the nature of being the superstar/MVP in the discussion all time greats. He’s going to get it. I’m with you though, someone else has to be able to knock down shots. Wolves just clogged the lane all night because they didn’t respect anyone else. Supporting cast doesn’t need to be on fire, but you can’t win consistently in the west if only 2 guys show up to play.

What I’m looking forward to see is watching ant guard kyrie and to see if KAT can go off because I don’t think there’s a player on the mavs that can guard him. The media secretly hates all foreign born players right now because it looks like they are taking over the league and they overly gassing Anthony Edwards up.
