Wiggins should be on this list instead of Klay. Wiggins should’ve been leading the young players and making the older guys job easier. He comes in games with no energy, turns the ball over, and misses easy shots. The whole team would look different if Wiggins was playing like the #2 he was paid to be. Klay’s just aging like a 34 year old who’s had 2 devastating injuries. That’s normal. Wiggins makes no sense.

I give Dame more credit than that. Going thru a divorce, splitting from family. Legal disputes and moving from a city and team system you've been with ALL your career, to go to a new city and team that isn't yours primarily. Learning a new system, learning a new role. Giannis saying Dames the face, Dame saying Giannis is the face, new coach in Doc Rivers, to the point where now theyre actually pulling together if not due to injuries. I'm not putting Dame on this list.
@barehands961410 ай бұрын
Dame doesn't even get killed on defense, nobody actually watches the games. He has a defended fg% of 45%. Low is so contradictory lmao, literally in his last video about wemby he said, "Wemby having 46% defended fg% is 'VERY VERY impressive' then he goes on to say that “the other defensive stats like D-win/shares and D-rating are more so about team defense then your own.” But sure for dame tho its horrible, but to make the case for wemby being dpoy it's "VERY VERY impressive". Dame is also 3rd in the NBA in clutch scoring and has some of the most efficient clutch time pts in the NBA which is exactly what they need him for. So again to low's point that "he hasn’t been able to turn on the switch" is also just false.
@weplaydk234310 ай бұрын
Excellent points here. I forgot that he said that about wemby. Personally thought he was going hard on dame. However i get him making the list in general due to expectations going into the season were people projected them to be unstoppable. .. But im not sure if thats mostly on dame, coaching and chemistry as a whole could be an issue. Also giannis said he wants this to be dames team and honestly im not sure he wants that... anyway i like seeing comments that critique B ball pundits deemed super knowledgeable about the game, (which LOW is) because it makes the discourse more interesting.

Saying his scoring goes down when he's sharing the ball with Giannis is not fair either. Also, to be honest, his scoring didn't go down at all if you compare it with his career average. Is he comparing him to last year's Dame, who was in a rebuilding team?
@LBEEZY_TV10 ай бұрын
This what I’ve thought too. The guy is definitely a team defender
@kingdeedee10 ай бұрын
Defensive FG% is not a good stat to compare how good two players are defensively (I’d argue it’s not a good stat at all honestly). It counts who is the closest defender on a shot, not who’s actively or supposed to be guarding the shot. Especially for a player guarding a lot of pick n rolls and other perimeter plays where there’s a lot of switch action, the number you get out of that for a player like Dame is just not going to be useful. Maybe if it was the 80s or 90s when you’re supposed to defend your man and only your man but nowadays throw that stat out. Defense is just way too team oriented for it to matter
@GOODMuzikBoi10 ай бұрын
Why is everyone disrespecting Dame? Idk why people still expected him put up the same numbers he used to Portland when his role is slightly different this year. The numbers gone down but his game from a eye test shows his game has not really changed. Idk why y’all expect his numbers to go up when the ball in his hands less than the previous years. I get the team is expected to win this year but the reason they traded for him is for what he’s expected to bring in the playoffs. I’m going to judge Dame on how he performs in the playoffs. I don’t care about his stats in the regular season.

Its not that hes not doing what he did in portland, i dont fully keep up with the bucks as a celtics fan but when i check their box score out of curiosity scarily frequently does dame have 12-16 points on 38%fg its not that hes not the same guy cuz he can be but its the serious inconsistency in his shooting thats interesting

I honestly think people need to revise their viewpoint on PGs who are fringe players like Jordan Poole. I honestly do not understand who thought he’d be a star point guard. At the very least, to win a championship, you need to play some sort of defence as the best player. If your best player is not a net-positive or average defender than you cannot win a championship. That goes and trickles down to players as well. If your player can only score and not play make/defend… TRADE THEM cause you will never win with them. This goes with players like Julias Randle as well
@Romanus-10 ай бұрын
By that standard Trae Young isn’t a star. Lillard isn’t a star. Luka isn’t a star. There’s tons of one way players that are stars who don’t play defense. The league isn’t the same as 5 years ago. Hell, there’s entire starting lineups who don’t play defense and still make the playoffs like the Kings
@tewulf409410 ай бұрын
@@Romanus- You misunderstood my point. I did not mean to say Trae Young isn’t a star but I will guarantee you by saying he’s never going to be your best player on a championship winning team. And honestly, if your GM can identify that your best player as he is cannot lead you to a championship, you either need to trade or sign a player better than him so he then becomes the 2nd or 3rd best player on the team or trade him. Also he’s been playing better lately if you go pre all star game it’s even worse he has just made the bucks a worse team with a higher ceiling. The nights he shoots 35% from the field while getting killed on defense doesn’t help the bucks and it’s happen so often he is killing them a lot of nights. I didn't expect growth because I couldn't imagine him getting better scoring opportunities than the 1v1 matchups with the "other" perimeter defenders he was getting in Golden State. Hopefully, this offseason they can sign an aged former all-star who can help him learn to deal with the pressure.

Poole’s drop was predictable if you watched a lot of GSW’s games last season. His tendency to take low% shots and had less coverage as the team still had Steph and Klay. Even then, his playmaking and defence were still below par severely limiting his game. I understand why then went with trying to build around an upcoming star but he seems to had already hit his peak. The only way I see him improving is if he fixes his shot IQ and develops some sort of playmaking ability in using PnR’s and play calling to get his team involved as the primary ball handler on either the 1st and 2nd unit.

I don't know if I can put Ayton as a disapointment this season. I get he can do better but can we say he's a terrible screener when he's 13th in Screen Assists Per Game in the NBA while having the worst shooting NBA team and the worst finishing NBA team ? No. Does he "only" score" 15,8 PPG ? Yes but he does that in a team that gives him only 12,6 FGA Per Game. I mean Portland doesn't know where they are in terms of project, they don't even know who to play through at this point and Ayton is mostly treated as a 4th or 5th option offensively. Does he takes most of his shots outside the restricted area ? Yes. It's because his teammates strengths are mostly finishing at the rim so the team needs him to space the floor and that means getting out of the paint and taking mid-range shots, a type of shot where he has shown improvement this season. Portland may be the worst team in the NBA this season (at least one of the 3 worst team), they don't play basketball as a team, they all play basketball, Ayton included, to show they belong in the NBA, they have no hierarchy and they don't where they going yet. And he's been injured. I get that Ayton can do better and probably should do better but it's not like he went from 4th option to 1st option on the team, he's still treated the same when he's clearly at least their 2nd or 3rd best player right now. And at some point we also have to realize Ayton might never be more than a 2nd or even a very good 3rd option on a contending team at best I would gladly say he's a disapointment next season but right now I can't when he's mostly done the best he can in a situation where everything seems to be working against him..
@dontworry797910 ай бұрын
The reporter asked ayton what was the change when he started playing better. Ayton said it’s because he was sleeping on an air mattress. Soon as he said that, I realised exactly what his problem is. Him getting snowed in, him whining like a lil baby in phoenix. He’s entitled. He’s only gonna have a good game when he’s pampered and catered to. I understand a good night sleep probably would be beneficial to your game, but for that to be a legitimate excuse that he had ready upon asking is absurd. Portland might have been on Houston level if they had a 20-10 ayton.
@rck132210 ай бұрын
We're not supposed to eb on houstons level, we're supposed to be in a rebuild. Ayton has had a stretch of very solid, borderline allstar type games since the break. Then he has to sit for a few games at a time. I dont believe thats his choice. Last night we started an all rookie line up, only the second time thats happened in 50 years. We're still a tanking team, and we will be that next year too. Any "problem" in DAs game isnt coming from him (in portland anyway). Our coaching staff sucks and our front office and owner suck. They lied to and failed one of the best players in the league for 3 years in a row, they chased him out of town, and now they're going to do the same thing to Scoot, Ant and Sharpe.

As for DA, I dunno if your a fan account but if that’s your opinion on DA then I dunno if u been watching him. In the kindest way possible, he’s a baby. Pampered and entitled. Not saying it like his talent isn’t there because it is. Facts are facts. In a league where big men stand out, I honestly believe he can potentially be the 3rd best center in the league. When he applies himself he’s unstoppable. Portland could’ve been a play in contender if he gave a solid 20-10
@rck132210 ай бұрын
@dontworry7979 Trading Dame wasn't supposed to result in being a contending team this year. Scoots not there, Sharpes not there, the 3 guard line up for the past 5 years has proven to fail. We need an actual small forward. This team is good, and it can improve. But you can't trade a top 75 player in league history to remain a play-in caliber team. We need to get Scoot toumani murray and Jabari all more time to develop, before expecting them to make a playoff run. And this front office refuses to address weak points in the team and won't go into the luxury tax. The team is good if all healthy but not a championship team, even in 2 or 3 years. We still don't have the right pieces and trading dame shouldn't result in being a mediocre team for the next 5-10 years.
@dontworry797910 ай бұрын
@@rck1322 I hear u but my point wasn’t that they’re a championship team. They obviously ain’t. But if u look at the team and what they have, you wouldn’t anticipate them being as bad as they are. They actually have pieces, very good pieces, regardless of if they’re fully developed. When they are fully developed it becomes more of an expectation than a belief but there lineup isn’t as bad as people try to make out. For example Look at there team in comparison to Utah. Utah is considered way better than them but what does Utah have that Portland doesn’t? Lauri is good but would u put him over DA?

I’m really the only person who didn’t expect anything from Poole huh? I’m a hometown bullets/wizards fan since the 90s and I have wizards gear from 2021 that I’m embarrassed to wear. This is just the same s**t as always. Jordan Poole coming to the wizards and being one of the worst players in the league. That’s just how we roll. I will say I’d rather them tank and stink then be middle of the pack with Bradley Beal. Let’s rebuild, but wow Jordan Poole is already one of the worst contracts in the NBA. Par for the course

Anyone that thought Jordan Poole was going to be a good starter needs to stop listening to Gilbert Arenas. The last year in GS the man shoot 43 FG% and 33 3PT% and was playing 2/3 of the time against the other teams bench players. He is a low IQ, carry the ball every possession, jack a lot of stupid shoots hoping it will go in type of player.

Wiggins has been way more disappointing than Klay. Klay has been coming back from 2 straight horrible injuries which naturally have reduced players ability afterward and he’s at an age of decline. Wiggins is supposed to be in his prime and is having by far the worst season of his career. When the warriors won the chip, he was arguably their 2nd best player…this year he's been like 6-8th best. Klay is still no doubt a top 3-4 player on the Warriors despite his age and injuries
