Its good to see the west featured for a change. I live in Sydney and love it but EVERY travel blogger come here and does the same old stuff - Harbour walk, Bondi Beach, Ferry trip to Manly, View from the South pylon of the Bridge etc etc, then up to Byron and Airlie beach to get drone shots. This is interesting original stuff, well done. And if you can get down south the beaches are lovely.

Petrol in Perth is interesting. All servos have to lock in their “next day price” with the government to control what was random price spikes that were going on about 20 years ago. The cycle usually lasts a week so petrol bottoms out on a Tuesday to low $1.70s (last week), resets up to around $2.20 on Wednesday and then progressively drops until the next Tuesday. If you only fill up once a week, it makes it very easy to schedule your fill-up day

Your Australian Culinary to-do list: 1) Put chicken salt on your chips. 2) Avoid the US fast-food franchises and find an old-school takeaway. Have a Chikko Roll and a Dim Sim (Correct ordering technique "Coupla Dimmies, thanks mate/love!"). Also have a hamburger with The Lot. (Contains the usual hamburger stuff but with Bacon, Fried Egg, Pineapple Ring). Plus beetroot. All Australian hamburgers have beetroot. Have with a chocolate milk. That is what the equivalent of "Fish And Chips" is if you live more than n hour from the coast.

The English Parmo has a white béchamel sauce instead of a tomato sauce. The Aussie Parma, Parmi or Parmy started in the 1950's and is served in most pubs across Australia. We also have Chicken Schnitzel, shortened as Schniti. So, if you see a sign for Schniti & chips you know what that is. Australians love to shorten words. As for fish see if you can try Flathead, beautiful fish.

Lee, you really need to come back to WA, but you need to visit the South, especially Busselton and the Margaret River region, Denmark and Albany. Also the North - Broome, the Pilbara, the Kimberley and the goldfields to the East (Kalgoorlie). Perth is just scratching the surface. EV is not the way forward in a state/country this large - hybrid is. I have to say of all the fish used in Oz, Barramundi and probably Red Spot Emperor are probably my favourites - certainly preferable to cod for me. As to the weather, it isn't "grim down South" in winter. Yes, you may occasionally see snow on the Stirling Ranges, but that's a rarity. If you want snow you need to go over east to the Australian Alps. You walked through Cottesloe and missed out on Amberjack - one of the best fish and chip locations in the Perth metro area. As I pointed out in one of your other videos, curry sauce and mushy peas are not a generally recognised accompaniment to fish and chips here. The only place I have come across that offers both is Ocean and Paddock in Albany. Albany is well worth a visit as it is where the Anzac troops departed from en-route to the Crimea in WWI. There is a fantastic interactive museum dedicated to the historical event, high in the hills overlooking the vast natural harbour.

I Love the tours. Beautiful location and interesting features. When I commented on your breakfast a few days ago being expensive, several people told me it was because you went to a high priced restaurant in a tourist area and ordered an expensive freshly squeezed orange juice and that the minimum wage was high. The minimum wage here is almost exactly the same (with currency converted), but restaurant prices are much lower, even after some recent large price increases. Your fish and chips yesterday were a bargain in comparison. But this place - the only time I would eat there is on a day when specials are about half price.

Parmigiana originated in Italy (obviously) The meat version originates from USA when Italian immigrants moved there. The version that was created in Middlesbrough was made by an American chef. the only real difference is the Béchamel which is French. Australia has its own style as do many other countries, but the origins are pretty clear.

To be honest a parmi is not an Australian thing, it's not an American thing and it's not a UK thing. It's where schnitzels originate from...Germany, Austria and northern Italy. I'm also pretty sure in the century or two it existed there that someone has put tomato sauce, cheese and even maybe ham on it at some point. Cod and haddock don't exist in Australia so don't go expecting the exact same fish...also the batter in Australia is almost always light and crispy, never stodgy and oily.
