Palace fan here, we don't want to sell, the fee has always been 65 mil plus add on's circa 70 -75 mil, The player knows he can get a bigger contract at the Palace with a clause allowing for a top 4 team to buy him, just we've done with Olise and Eze, so if there isn't another offer from Newcastle he'll sign a new deal. The manager wants Guehi and a push for the top eight which is our target. I know you are frustrated about the situation but if it was Palace trying to buy Gordon you'd want your board to play hard ball and get as much as possible for the deal, so well done Parish.

It's always been £65 million flat rate plus add ons. The fourth bid was apparently £60 million plus add ons, still short of what palace have wanted all along. The fee is far too high of course but at no point have the goalposts been moved by them. We should have had a maximum price we were willing to pay and if that was less than they wanted it should have been the first and only offer and once rejected our 2nd choice target should have been persued.

We have adequate cover at CB, and reportedly could have Botman back by October. We could revisit CB cover in Jan, but for now the key position we need to focus on is RW. Would love Mbeumo or Raphinha for this position, such a signing would significantly enhance our top 4 chances

Media circus aside, questions need to be asked about this new "upgraded" hierarchy. Mehrdad, Amanda and E.H delivered Botman, Trippier, Gordon, Bruno, Tonali & Isak in under 3 bids..this lot have delivered a 0 goal striker for 10m & have (seemingly) had 4 bids for 1 player rejected. Bids 1 & 2 you're trying your luck, but by bid 3 you know what it takes to either seal it or walk away, SURELY. Worse of all, other clubs & players will now probably also take us for a ride if we look at alternatives.ALSO, clearly Guehi doesn't want this move as much as has been publicised otherwise he would've had a chat to his current club to nudge them to accept.That's my rant🤣

At £65 million we can buy most defenders. Man Utd offered £45 for Braithwaite (£37.5 mill plus add ons ). I would offer £40-45 mil for Braithwaite( plus £5 mill add ons …if we win champions league 5 times in 5 years…f..a cup 3 years running etc. . We have sort have shot ourselves in the foot chasing Guehi, we've basically very publicly laid our cards out on the table of how much we are willing to spend on a CB.... so do we really think Thiaw will still be the £35m he was a few weeks back? or is it more than likely Milan will have us over a barrel knowing we are now desperate and especially for a defender a year younger than Guehi, a German international, playing at an elite European team and with Champions League experience. I suspect that even if we look elsewhere than Thiaw after Guehi, that this whole saga will make any other deal for a CB drawn out and complicated. I'm a West Ham fan but I did hear we made an enquiry for Guehi at the beginning of the transfer window and were basically told the same that any offer at to start at 65m cash without add on's, never heard anymore so I assume it was a thanks but no thanks, it might have been 65m + 5m add on's to get to 70m, not sure, but my understanding was that Parrish made it clear all offers at to be at least 65m cash, not sure how you lads feel but a bit rich for me, dread to think what he want's for Eze.
