Super comprehensive guide! A few things to note is that Hei also has a Reina-like auto parry in Fujin stance during heat and d1,2 is a pretty good poke that goes into Raijin stance. It’s a high coverage oki option and I use it a lot against Xiao yus and Zafinas in their evasive stances.
@rjgtc01
@rjgtc01 3 ай бұрын
Important note, as a -14 punish you get b3,3 into the same oki as guilotine smash and raijin 3. Some -15 moves push back slightly too far for the df3 punish so you have to b3,3 if you can't electric. Also if your oponent gets up wrong it will do more damage then the df3 punish anyways.

I like to mix hellsweep with wavedash cancel FCDF4, because the cancel animation kinda looks like a delayed hellsweep if done quickly, so you can expect them to crouch guard thinking you will do a HS, but then you can surprise them with a WS3,1+2 or basically any mid you want.

0:40 As someone who's been trying to learn Heihachi in older Tekkens (DR in particular), if I played T8, I'd be really exorcised at what they've done to Heihachi, especially making him so much worse at poking. I get that they want Reina to be the 'small Tekken' Mishima in T8, but, contrary to popular belief, she really doesn't play that much like old-fashioned Heihachi. For one thing, she has all sorts of evasive shenanigans, which Heihachi has never had, but the biggest difference is that, while old-school Heihachi had great pokes, he wasn't strictly dependent on 'small Tekken' in the way that Reina is, as he also boasted an array of safe, abuseable, normal- and counter-hit-launching mids. Reina, by contrast, doesn't really have any abuseable launchers apart from EWGF, and is much more of a death-by-a-thousand-cuts character. I, on the other hand, prefer to have access to a combination of both 'small' and 'big' Tekken, rather than being limited to either. That isn't to say that I want a character who excels at everything, to the point of having no discernible weaknesses - I'm okay with Heihachi having, as he's always had, suspect lows, for example - but I don't like having to choose between pokes and launchers.

F3 can give you +10 to +11 frames into a guaranteed 1,1,2 or 1,2,2(Dmg is scaled down tho) into a stance mixup if you want, you have to play with it a little in practice mode, for example if an EWGF is blocked, you can do a micro hold forward 3 and it should give you +10 or +11 if they step to either side. It's also should work after a blocked WS4.

The guide was excellent really in depth and broken down well, only two things missed which is great considering there’s so much to go through. Heihachi in heat has the option to press D3,2 for big dmg (also hits grounded) Also D1,2 press forward goes into his rajin stance for mixup. I learnt a lot from this guide, love the character and that he’s still execution heavy and even his VA has done a really good job in keeping this character badass nice one

@@RickRothstein843 I can do electric electric lol but a lot of people don’t realize that crouch dash out of stance you can get a zero execution electric and it’s a good way to keep your offense going right after a stance which usually you lose momentum. If they block your move and you go into stance and you don’t want to commit to a stance option just press df2 and you are +5 again. Instead of going into stance then doing a stance cancel and then doing an electric that’s just extra steps.

Can someone explain how heihachi is hard? I am at tekken god and play against dumbass heihachis 6/10 games. Playing Paul, I do not have the privilege of small hit boxes. It feels like I can never duck or press it’s either ss or block and pray there is no lows. Plus he heals when I block. If it’s his turn challenging an electric against a character you cannot duck against feels like shit. Execution doesn’t make you a hard character to me. @ChandanKumar-qc1iy He’s just easy to use & kind of spammy. I play Mishima so his play style is just jab, jab, poke, poke, then catch your opponent wiffing with an electric. On top of that his high damage combos make him s tier. I do 3 electrics into f1, into kamae stance into f1, then rajin stance 2, into uf 3+4, pop heat, then b2, into iron hand, into df1 & you have a 106 damage combo. Do that twice and you win the match. Pretty simple & easy to execute. I’m speaking for me of course. & last is his aesthetic look. It’s boring and the same like in t7. They should have gave him some suits in stead of his iconic boring ass Gi.

Mid tier.. Just say openly yeah He is broken but he is cool so don't nerf him..? I also love how delusional people call him so difficult and execution heavy when he is Lee and Steve treatment, meaning they were really hard in Tekken 7, but got super dumbed down in Tekken 8, both combos and Omen in Tekken 8 are baby level compared to T7 Heihachi. He is insanely strong and annoying, not even mentioning the fucking damage.. Kazuya only rivals it but Kazuya actually is difficult.
@snizzle6174
@snizzle6174 3 ай бұрын
it's really funny to comment this on mainman's channel Known Kazuya hater Main Man. Never played Kazuya ever. Wouldn't know anything about t7 heihachi or kazuya or even the games before then. Definitely wouldn't be comparing Heihachi's execution directly to Kazuya's when talking about it. nope. What I think you're getting at is the failure state is softer in t8 than in those games. You don't just drop omen and lose your combo - you miss gold spark and do a little less damage. That doesn't make the optimal combo *easier*, that makes it less punishing to miss, and I think Main Man is particular about that distinction since especially for heihachi his damage is sort of everything. Especially because of how much he sits on the margin of 2 touch where that gold spark might actually be the difference between 2 and 3 interactions Having played Reina and Heihachi for a while you really feel the difference. Hei is that kind of character that looks broken but then you go into a match and never actually get to do the things you thought were busted because your opponent mashed jab. There's a world of depth behind using the big swings that makes it fun but objectively worse than all the characters that just get to swing for free. The other thing is that like, most of the top tiers do almost as much damage as Hei in many of the situations you can bring up, just not quite all of them. It's really only a small advantage for him at the moment. My bet is top tiers will get big damage and mechanical nerfs that suddenly shoot Hei up the tier list as the game reframes itself around him without him changing very much - at which point he'll be like high tier because his damage is more real of an advantage and the punishment tools matter more given some of the nerfs would be making things more punishable.

@deaderdandead1484 Hei is somewhat on paper Bryan Mishima. Back breaking linearity, lack of poking utility, not so scary lows, counterhit/launch high damage and scary wake-ups especially at wall. Yet there is bias in how Bryan could be S but Hei is B. However Hei has way better heat + healing. See how that doesn't seem like a fair analysis?
@P_Pacey

But everyone will defend Hei with... But he is so steppable. Yeah like Bryan. But execution. Yeah like Bryan if you want that. But so defensive. Yeah Bryan. No rushdown. Yeah Bryan. But he no lows. Yeah Bryan. But poking trash. Yeah Bryan. But Bryan damage. Hei has more damage. But Hei is hard. So is Bryan but a nicely placed CH/launch can change everything, like Hei. But then. Tekken players.
