I love the Pact World system. It plus our own system basically makes for almost any kind of possible and interesting planet that one could find in science fiction that is somewhat more grounded even though all the planets have some sort of magical aura around them. I love that the Starfinder setting is system-based and not interstellar-based and they are in the early days of interstellar travel. Although there are less space habitats that I would wish for, but those are very easy to introduce anyway.

There's always the Deck of Many Worlds add-on for generating more ideas if the Pact Worlds and Near Space don't do it, too. Some neat random results there, and you can always tweak them to suit your campaign. What little Starfinder play I've managed to get in since the pandemic has been based on oddball systems out in the Vast, and teh GM has been using the Deck for inspiration.

You know after hearing about the lore of pathfinder I was really depressed about how things were looking downhill for humans with empires in decline, massive storms, magical fallout, and a literal section of the world leaking the abyss. I'm impressed that they not only survived but also advanced in a interstellar community. Well done guys you really bounced back!

My understanding was that the Lashunta and Formians had been warring for millenia, back to when the Formians were only semi-intelligent hive creatures (like big, destructive ants).

Isn't Aballon's majority population the evolved robotic Anacites? They're the real natives on the world, everyone else is pretty much a colonist or visitor. Place isn't terribly pleasant for organics outside the arcology complexes. Similarly, Apostae's small population is dominated by the Drow, but they've got a hell of a lot of half-orc slaves-in-all-but-name there as well. PC half-orcs are likely to either be recent escapees of the place or descended from earlier ones, although there are some groups who appear to have gotten off Golarion on their own or in the company of humans and other non-Drow.

You are correct with Aballon, I didn't mention them or the androids. Same with the Apostae, they do have orc slaves but I would like to think they have a home world somewhere :P

I might have my players watch this before I start my game, but I do have some questions. You mentioned the Sun but didn't talk about the races that could be found there, especially since there is a whole AP that revolves around the sun (pun wasn't consciously on purpose). You also didn't mention the other race on Triaxus, Ryphorian, they were first known extraterrestrial race I was introduced in Pathfinder. This was before I knew elves were not originally from Golarion. Anywho I have enjoyed your pieces on Starfinder, as I am getting ready to run an AP.

Is there a standard Pact World's air traffic control system or does every planet have their own ATC?

I have beem running it that each planet has their own ATC. Some planets are simply more backwater and wouldn't be able to accommodate huge space craft. Transport would be super common though, since there isnt a interplanetary internet as far as im aware. Which means physical mail is still a thing, even if its just a holovid.

@@TheMapleTable There actually is a way to get system-wide comunication channels and the eoxians (ilegally) transmit a death contest show with totally voluntary living creatures across the system. That said, I'm not so sure if there is proper system-wide internet yet, but it wouldn't be that unreasonable. After all, light-speed is fast enough to cover an entire system without much problem (although important messages in those cases will probably go in spaceships as drift travel is absurdily faster than light). In other words, system-sized internet is not impossible but it will have delays of minutes up to hours and drift travel may very well be much faster.

Cool, informative video, but I feel compelled to comment... The "subscribe" animation over and over, on top of the part where you ask people to subscribe out loud... That's annoying; not a good tactic. Better just have it once while you mention it out loud. Otherwise, I enjoyed the video!
