You can definitely make a cat in a different color as well! :) Some of my testers made them in brown multicolor yarn and they were SO CUTE

You can take a break, find a softer yarn, or even get a better hook

I like the Ergonomic hooks! I can crochet for a really long time with them unlike the thin metal one that I started with. Also do take breaks if you can! I also tend to switch between crocheting and sewing, stuffing etc to give my hands a break from the same motion.
