Protip: you can turn the hip belt into bottom compression straps. Just pull both sides of the hip straps across the bottom of the bag in a V shape, lead both buckles through the loop on the front bottom that's meant for a bike light, and buckle it. Then you get two straps on the bottom that you can use to mount a jacket or something, and you can tighten it up with the buckles.

Ive been to Disney several times for solo trips. I bring two backpacks with me. One is an Osprey 40L as a suitcase and a random backpack for the parks. I used a Mystery Ranch in and out 19 and it worked out nicely. Im also going this October and im using the Mystery Ranch Rip Ruck 15 as a park bag.

I wish I still had my In and Out 19. Amazing pack. But the alpha flex water bottle pocket and the odd shape would make me choose a differ t pack for Disney. I’m now looking at the nano 24

Yellowstone! That will be a great adventure. I haven’t been out west I’m over a decade. I didn’t do much hiking when I was there. Spent most of our time in Moab. But Yellowstone is amazing. Enjoy your trip!

How is the back ventilation for this pack? I heard the inside of the pack gets sweaty because there's not much of a barrier where the foam's cut.
@jeffgrantMEDIA Жыл бұрын
I mostly used this in cooler weather, but I do run hit. I didn’t have much issue with it. I felt that it had resent ventilation and the foam has cutouts to move air along on your back.

I recently got this bag. Seems great, but I wish the back panel was removable. I might have to slice the top and remove it.
@jeffgrantMEDIA Жыл бұрын
I find the back panel to be pretty comfortable. You can just get a packable bag of you want it to floppy. I don’t think this pack would handle so well with it removed. I do wish the bottle pockets were the same as the front pocket. You would be able to fit large bottles in it.

stumbled on your reddit post asking for disney bag recommendations. What led you to ultimately pick the nano 24? We're going to the parks in September (family of 3 as well), so Im trying to decide on what to get, I found the nano 20 for $56. Dont see the nano24 for less than $80 right now.
@jeffgrantMEDIA5 ай бұрын
i found the 20 to just be a little to small after testing it for a while. It fit everything I started with, but knowing I would become the pack mule throughout the day as we "collected" things.... I knew I needed more space. I didn't want to go too big, as I didn't want to allow myself to lug that much stuff around. I ultimately found the Nano 24 to be the perfect size and it checked all the boxes for what I wanted in a bag. And it certainly worked out great for me. I was able to over stuff it beyond capacity and still comfortable lug it around and use it as a carry on item on the return flight.

Did you go to Disney yet? Looking at a pack too for Disney and when researching this pack came across this video. Don’t really plan on carrying a lot just a few snacks /first aid/meds, about two hydro flasks like you have, a light fleece, battery bank and 3-5 ponchos/rain jacket.
@jeffgrantMEDIA Жыл бұрын
I haven’t gone yet. Not until October. But it was an excuse to get a new pack when I didn’t have any other packs coming in for review… haha. But I think the nano 20 will definitely be a great Disney pack.
@Phamtom_images11 ай бұрын
do you think the bag is thin enough to be packed in a carry on backpack? i'm looking for a day bag for europe but wanted one with better straps and back support than those tiny packable bags and was hoping that this will fit the bill.
@jeffgrantMEDIA11 ай бұрын
Probably. If I remember in the morning I’ll squish down my nano 24 and see how flat it gets. I don’t have then 20 any longer. But if I can pack a 24, the 20 will fit in a larger bag.

Do you think this is a good backpack not only for hiking but also for travelling?
@jeffgrantMEDIA Жыл бұрын
I do. I actually bought this to travel with. I have a dedicated hiking pack. But I had to test it as a daypack for my review.

I'm looking at this backpack but with a few doubts. I want to use it for day hikes, so probably carrying a couple extra layers in there, some food&water, camera, light tripod and trekking poles. Would you still advise in favor of this bag? I believe the how thing should weight around 4kg (~9lbs) Do you know if a camera clip would fit in this back? Or could you say the width of the shoulder strap? Also, any ideas on how to attach trekking poles?
@jeffgrantMEDIA2 ай бұрын
As far as the capacity of the bag, if you are carrying only for yourself this will be plenty big enough. I was able to put snack, water for 3 people and a dog in the bag. As well as some extra clothing for my daughter. The bag was full, but if I were only carrying for myself, this would be plenty fine. There are no trekking poll loops on this bag. But you can probably stick them into one of the bottle pockets and lash them to the bag.I am pretty sure the PD camera clip will fit just fine on this shoulder strap.

@@jeffgrantMEDIA ty I've been looking at the 24L just bc of the trekking pole loops, but I really want a smaller pack. Thinking about sewing the loop myself
@jeffgrantMEDIA2 ай бұрын
@@calebe16 I am sure you can use the light loop and add some parachord to slip the ends of trekking polls in. Then use the top tabs and some shock chord to attach the tops.

hows ur height?
@jeffgrantMEDIA Жыл бұрын
It varies wildly depending on my carry situation. But I never weigh it. If the bag is too full or too heavy, I’ll take things out. But this pack would probably handle up to 20lb fine (fully loaded with water). An average day pack should weigh 10% your body weight. So a good average is 15-20lb.
