Fell in love with Van Morrison’s voice, when, as a young teen, I heard “Gloria”. Later, in the best summer ever, “Brown-eyed Girl” was my theme song. His deep album cuts are so soulful and evocative. Van The Man Forever.

I love that at about 2:45 he looks at the horn section and sings their part and then they NAIL IT with the chords! It became a chill jam and then Van say's, "BRING IT UP!" and it starts kicking Butt until the end. Pro Musicians like that are amazing!

Having been in Van's position myself (at a much smaller level), I can see he is just trying to get through this song with as much dignity as he can hold together. The Guitar players are playing so loud that he needs to hold his right ear closed to hear himself sing on pitch. Also, the guitar players are overplaying big time and can't play an R&B song to save their lives! Im willing to bet the background singers are not his usual vocalists either (probably Don Kirshner house vocalists ) because they are not harmonizing with him work a dam. You can see It all just sucks the life out of his performance and what you have is just a complete lack of enthusiasm. Poor Van , so very talented! ( I bet he would want to burn this video, but I guess we are lucky to have it!)
