The amount of work you put into this - the riding ofc, but also all the great video editing. We should all just feel spoiled. Great job on that epic mountain. I did my first attempt with you, when you arranged that pacing ride with "Dontgetdroppedcycling" and it was a great experience. I was 80 kg back then, and did 72 minutes something. So with the way you train and shed weight, you will get that sub 60 - I'm sure about it. I myself probably never will. It seems like a bad back, bad knees, or something else always gets in the way of my progress:)

Congrats on the PR @RyanCondon, i know how hard that climb can be. At 54, 6'5" and 110kg AdZ sub 60 is unlikely to happen for me. My PR is 67 mins and i was dying by the end. I was pretty much just below my FTP of 320 for the duration and to do sub 60 i need to hold approx 370w which is a big jump in power. I might just stick to sprinting ;). I hope you get the sub 60 :)

That's an absolutely spectacular time! I spent a loooong time at just sub-70... but kept hammering at the AdZ, and watched time lower and lower steadily. Keep at it and you'll sub-60 it, guaranteed! (and you need to maintain 355 watts, actually - 3.2 w/kg (plus juuuust a smidge more) maintained for the climb will nail a sub-60 effort.)

Literally my favourite thing to do on Zwift and I dont know why. 😅 75 minutes is extremely respectable and would have been thrilled with that as a result. 🙌

As Ryan can't explain them, can someone help me find "climbing gears" in Zwift? I assume we're not taking about trainer difficulty?
@RyanCondon
@RyanCondon 7 күн бұрын
I can explain enough to say that I'm not referring to trainer difficulty. The gearing setup is also not through Zwift but through my Wattbike app. My wattbike allows me to change my virtual gearing settup from "racing" to "climbing" within their own app. When I do this and then connect to Zwift, the gears are setup with a much wider range for climbing. I dont know what trainer you use, I also dont know if other trainers offer this.

@@RyanCondon Ah, got you. I was all over the app trying to find those gears. Yeah, a wider gear range will sure help with the spinning. Don't get too used to it though if you're planning on getting through Simon Warren's book. UK hills are so short and steep that the ability to grind is actually what you need here!

Did you stop drinking go vegan and start the fitness stuff straight away, or did you ween yourself off the drink and meat. I ask because I really struggle with a sugar/food addiction. I cycle about 150km a week and I’m definitely not unfit. But controlling the weight is so difficult. Do you have any tips about how you went from overeating, heavy drinking and being inactive, to getting lean, teetotal, vegan and fit?

@@aerogut2338 Hey! I wouldn't advise anyone to do it the way I did. I quit alcohol cold turkey otherwise I would have never stopped. I went vegan some time later and again that was overnight. I started walking and then eventually running when I had lost enough weight. Its hard to explain other than I knew I had to change everything or nothing would change, if that makes sense. I made a few videos about it on my channel.

The out of the saddle rocker plate riding looked as epic as cycling indoors can look. Great Vid only been up the AdZ once, focusing on recovery for this week might give it a go next week 🤌
