It was hard to believe that the long awaited rematch would live up to the hype, but if anything Manny Pacman Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Dinamita Marquez 2 was even better than the first.

Marquez landed lots of heavy punches to Pacquiao, but never ever scored a knockdown. But on their last fight, Marquez suddenly got a superpower which is very questionable on his age. And upon researching, I found out that he hired a proven PED dealer named Memo Heredia. As Pacquiao who already felt Marquez' power multiple times, and how it changed a lot instantly, he should've ask for an investigation because Marquez was obviously doping.

@@vincedgarvlogs Lol as a pinoy Pacman fan I can even argue that both guys did it, if that's the argument you wanna use. I'm not saying Manny is always on PEDs and is not talented but c'mon, it's prevalent in any sport, especially in combat sports. So stop using that argument. If there's anything, it's just that Marquez definitely prepared for his revenge big time. I still remember before their last fight that there was some reports that Marquez has been training for 3 or 4 months already, way before even Pac started his own training (not really sure, maybe my memory's just blurry about it). But yeah that's basically what's up, Marquez was fully prepared compared to Manny who has been busy being a politician at that time. Plus I wouldn't say too that that last counterpunch that fell Manny was just a fluke. I mean Marquez has always been a great counterpuncher, pretty sure on that split second, it was Marquez' own innate skill and instinct that made him throw that one big punch that KO'd Manny. It's not a fluke. Plus it's also a great thing for Manny too becaue that one loss changed him. It made him transform into a more analytical & careful type of an aggressive boxer, the "Old Pac" that we have witnessed these past few years. I like to believe that that transformation of style gave Pac the success he got late into his career. Just imagine it, if Pac continued his overly aggressive style then later in his career, I'm pretty sure some young gun would probably KO him instead. If it's not Marquez then it's gonna be some young boxer down the road. It's just inevitable if you're gonna consider Pac's boxing style.

Marquez is a great boxer. No one can take away his greatness from him. The problem is he was too focused only (hence the 4th fight) on Pacquiao that his game became one dimensional. He evolved to counter Pac, not to counter for any opponent in front of him. This was evident in his fight with Mayweather which was obviously once sided. He showed no adjustment whatsoever in that fight. His style is perfect against Pac, but never against other boxers. Pac on the other hand continued to evolve his game, hence the 8 division titles. Marquez could only chase him so much. But then again, both will be legends in the near future.
@VicInNocal
@VicInNocal Жыл бұрын
I agree with that to a degree, including that Marquez PROBABLY took steroids or something for his 4th fight with Pacquiao because he wanted so badly to beat him. However, JMM still had a lot of success against just about everybody else he fought, it's not like he was some journeyman who struggled with everybody else but just so happened to be a tough stylistic matchup for Manny. As far as Marquez's fight against Mayweather, JMM was simply too undersized for Floyd.

Actually in their last fight, Manny mentioned he was tired of the close decisions and the decisions being challenged afterwards. He said he would need a “knockout “ and did not want to settle for another decision, apparently Marquez had the same idea and they were throwing bombs right off the bat. Marquez also came in bigger and stronger and had a lot of power in his punches compared to their previous fights this was the biggest Marquez has ever been. Manny does a quick faint before charging in to finish, he’s done it a lot and Marquez knew it, right after Manny faints Marquez throws a bomb and caught Manny coming in. Marquez has one of greatest recovery after getting daze it’s crazy! You can never count him out even when he’s hurt. I remember after this fight I thought Manny was finished and a lot also thought so, but he came back and continued to improve. I think that’s what makes him great! A lot of fighters would have gone to retirement after getting knocked out like that. He came back and fought Brandon Rios and had another great trilogy against Tim Bradley and great fights against other champions. Respect to both fighters for giving it their all and are true warriors! I am going to be biased after Marquez knocked out Pacquiao in their last fight. Marquez doesn't want a 5th fight with Pacquiao anymore to preserve the 'W.' Marquez said, 'I don't want a fifth fight. It's better for the pride, the dignity, the love for the sport, and the most important victory of my life because we had beaten the best pound-for-pound fighter at that time.' For me, it probably also meant for Marquez that he is better than Pacquiao because of this 'W.' But if there was a 5th fight that had happened, I wouldn't bet against Pacquiao. To balance things out, I give credit to Marquez for his performance in knocking out Pacquiao.

This was a great rivalry. First of all, I tip my hat to Marquez. He was never afraid of Manny. Never seen him run or clinch (unlike Floyd). He was a great boxer and excellent counter puncher. But what he possessed in intelligence, he lacked in power. At least against Manny. He was determined to put him away for good and personally, I thought Manny should not have given him a 4th fight. Manny always looked bad against JMM. Hell i think he lost that 3rd fight against JMM and that should have been the end of it. But kudos to Manny also for never backing down. True warrior. But here is my concern for that 4th fight. Why would JMM hire a convicted PED peddler Memo Heredia for their 4th fight??? I watched the HBO 24/7 for that fight and at first glance I could tell that JMM was juiced up to the gills. He had muscles coming out of nowhere, and this guy was close to 40 years old. There was even a clip of him with all the zits on his back. So 3 fights in, at his prime, but he never was able to KO Manny. Now comes the 4th fight, he's almost 40 and all of a sudden he possesses superhuman punching power. It was like his second Puberty at 40 yrs old. Suspicious AF. Memo Heredia should never be involved in any sport much less with combat sport. He is also known to be able to mask or hide the test results. Eric Morales also mentioned something to this effect and said something to the effect of Mexican Pharmacies is undefeated. lol. After that 4th fight, JMM decided to fight Tim Bradley, and he looked like shit against him and lost. Bradley who Manny Pacquiao easily beat.

6:40 having a granite chin is indeed a formidable but it also reminds us the limits of human brain when they get wobbled: Marquez in a few moments forgot where his corner was

This was hard to watch for me. I love Pac-Man but I knew he was going to lose this fight. I won a $1000/$100 from this fight. He was way of cocky the months before the fight and Marquez was hungry as hell. I remember looking at Marquez’s body and thinking he was juicing. The guy looked like he was in his 20s.

Erik Morales ' El Terible ' is the only man who beat Pacquiao. In the first trilogy fight, Morales was at his best outboxing Pacman with his ringwork iq and skill alone.

I’m so glad these two fighters faced off and gave us a series of legendary bouts. This is what happens when fighters aren’t worried about their “perfect record” and don’t cherry pick fights.

Style makes fight, the fact that Manny are not losing against Marquez shows how good he is, JMM style usually has advantage against volume fighter like Pacman. His style coincidentally weak against smaller and nimbler fighter like Chris John because there’s not enough time and space to counter which gave him the controversial lost. So I put Pacman higher position on best ever ladder.

As a filipino, i use to think that watching pacquiao fight mexicans with other mexicans would be us people just talking sht to each other. Nope. We ended up praising each others fighters.

When you put 2 real brawlers on the boxing ring. Expect a war every round. One of the best Match up will always be Pacman and JMM. Not a single boring round.

I hated Pacquiao! He was so good at his skills that he ate Mexican boxers like a kid devoured cereal @ breakfast and the only one who could match him always lost to him. I raged in fury each time Marquez lost to Pacquiao! but years later I started to like like Pacman! so much that I was furious when he lost to a dirty European boxer! Now I looked at the fights that they had with different eyes and truly enjoy both of their techniques, you cannot deny Pacman greatness! he was phenomenal! Marquez too! Both were legendary when they collided and the result was a spectacular showcase of techniques that other boxers look up to achieve one day.
