I've learned to never tell anybody your goals, dreams or plans, especially people that have never really done anything themselves. 9/10 times they will "shit on" the idea in some way or they'll try and make you doubt yourself. What's strange is that this seems to be the most true about family members. There's something about not wanting the image they have of you to change because it will disrupt their life and it forces them to have to see you differently. So many people will find away to make it about themselves, even if they do it in an indirect way. It's pretty f*cked up. It's kinda like when you tell your parents you want to do something like "be a musician" or something like that and they tell you that you need to be realistic. They're pretend that it's our of concern or care, but it's not. It's out of their own selfishness to keep you the same as they know you and who they made you. A lot of parents don't want their kids to do better than them. That's one of the most untrue narrative you'll hear about parents, that they want to see their children do better than they did. A lot of them don't. They just say that to look like a good parent.

Maaaaan you're dead on right! Growing up, my parents always encouraged me with my enjoyment of being involved in theatre as a hobby or extracurricular activity, but when I was in college and decided I wanted to be an actor or filmmaker professionally, they immediately began to beat it out of me verbally, saying it wasn't realistic and I'd never be able to make a career out of it or make any money and live comfortably, etc. Not only did them shitting all over my dreams kill my desire and motivation to pursue a career in theatre or film, but I haven't set foot on a stage in 15 years because my confidence was obliterated. Now I'm 36 and in a menial office job, which I do enjoy, but have no passion for. Just the way they envisioned, probably.

It's been my lesson keep plans to self from people who have an agenda. There was a woman who loved to always work out next time at gym I told her my plans to take river cruise. That night I set 3 alarms. None went off I overslept and missed my cruise. Later at gym saw her. She said I am so glad to see you. I was praying you wouldn't go on your trip. Only share with someone who supports you or an expert otherwise tell people AFTER

Fuck yeah Bill! Ludwig Vistalights are the shit!!! You may have to call a rep to special order the 24". The shell sizes offered these days from any manufacturer are bullshit. Nobody wants a goddamn 8" rack tom, unless you have a 12 pc. with every other freakin size.
