I agree with Bill and Nia, being a vegetarian myself. In fact, it's what I do when I get invited. I make a rice dish or a small dish that can be heated up, take it with me and eat my own meal during these events. Only problem with it is that it's considered rude, like I'm insulting the people hosting the food event. Well no sherlock, I just don't eat meat and I don't expect people to cater to my ass. Ergo, I take care of myself.

Proper vegan BBQ etiquette (As a vegan) - set up 2 grills, one would be for the meat eaters. Warn in advance. Don't be a douche. Don't shove your nose into other's plates. If you're really against it - don't invite your meat eater friends. Live and let live, people. Vegans and meat eaters can coexist with ease, just don't make a constant big deal about the food your friend is eating. No one likes a preacher.

Carrots in lasagna is actually pretty good, you just need it to be real lasagna and not that fucking shitty vegetarian lasagna type of thing, and make the carrot pieces small enough to get cooked properly, basicly to they are so soft you can crush then with your tongue and palate. Weird this distinction people see between humans and animals. No reason we should be abstaining from eating humans but eating animals. You might say it's because animals are dumb, but of course then you'd have justified eating mentally disabled people. You might say it's because animals can't feel anything, and then you'd just be wrong because there's no reason to think their brains and nerves work any differently than ours when it comes to pain and other sensations.

Now I think the important thing to consider is this: Can animals suffer? It may be that other animal species can't think in the way we can, and if they can they certainly can't do it as well as we can. But I have as much evidence that pigs suffer as I have evidence that humans suffer. I can't feel what either are feeling directly, but I take the evidence of their screams and aversion to pain and discomfort as being pretty conclusive. So, who is it really that has the big issues here Adam, me, or meat-eaters?
