You’re a smart guy, I know you’ll fix it. Congratulations. I’d bet the clog is caused by the fabric softener. I’m surprised the appliance repair isn’t considered essential. I had to put new roller wheels and belt idler in my 17 yr old Kenmore dryer 2 weeks ago.

Hi Mick, nice video. Hotels use white vinegar as a clothes softener (makes the towels fluffy). Added benefit is it keeps the soap from clogging and the element from furring up. A hot wash with vinegar and soda crystals (you can get them in a 1 kg bag in supermarkets) on its own will clean your machine. Prevention is better than cure! I think eco washing and lower temperatures makes soap clogging more common...

Hi Mick I cycle our washing machine once a month on a hot wash empty cycle. Too much soap and softener used. Amazing that the water froths up every time even when empty. All started after a mate had a similar problem with a blocked level pipe. Mates do the same now but use their old towels that they use to dry their dogs not to waste a boil wash.

@@themowerman hi mick I'm a washing machine enthusiast if you look at my channel and notice you use liquid I advise people not to use liquid as it clogs your machine up and causes mould in the machine as it doesn't dissolve. Where as powder has enzymes in it which means it dissolves so I'd strongly suggest that you stop using liquid and start using powder and hot washes and you will notice a big difference as powder dissolves and liquid doesn't. @@themowerman well I used bleach because that's pretty safe on rubber and is good for cleaning the machine out anyway. Turns out my hose isn't blocked, it's my inlet jets. They don't seem blocked but the 3rd tray jets, when they come on on their own, the pressure makes the water blast out over the top. It only happens at the end of the wash cycle. Seems like the splash guard just doesn't sit low enough to stop capillary action

@@themowerman Thanks for the response mate I will clean this out tomorrow and hopefully all will work again. It is well overdue to clean out some pipes so I have it apart and will look for blockages in any of the pipes and give it a good clean with vinegar and baking soda. Never had a shirt sleeve ripped off by any washing machine and that certainly wouldn't effect the detergent draw so I am a bit confused but I think this is what happened to mine as well.
@thedave7760 Жыл бұрын
@@themowerman Ok so anyone here who is curious here is what happened to my machine. I put on a load and went out when I got home the power sockets were not working, I reset the breaker and started the machine again and let it finish, it shut down saying e-10 water not filling soon after I realised it had flooded totally downstairs. I took it apart and cleaned everything put it back together and it flooded again. On closer inspection I noticed that there was a rubber pipe-attachment for the dryer function that pumps hot air into the drum and it had come loose from the outer tub, Put it all back together and mopped up made sure those pipes were all nice and snug. So I think I may have overfilled the machine and one of my shirt sleeves which was totally ripped from the shirt had perhaps stopped the drum from turning and probably torqued the whole drum down on the springs to where this pipe had fallen off stalling the motor and blowing the fuse. All is good now , though I wish I didn't have a dryer function on my washer I have never used it and never will it complicates things with more plumbing inside the washer it totally screwed me over.

I use to deliver these washers, I had a thing I use to tell the customers, if they want these front load washers last a long time and not mold, and stink, now this comes from the manufacturer, do the laundry like this, darks first, then lights, the whites, that way whites take Bleach and hot water, that cleans the machine and doesn't promote mold cause the last load being whites the Bleach kills the mold, and also when your done for the day leave the door of the washer open, so the drum can dry over night.... I always leave the door on my front load open a bit, and it's 15 years old and doesn't smell or mold at all, and I do the whites as the last load.

The reasons for clogged hoses as well as filthy drawers and tubs are more complex than not doing hot washes. - Liquid detergents are often blamed for building up a bio film in the whole washing machine. - Eco programs and even normal programs often don’t reach the selected temperatures. Manufacturers can control water temperatures very precisely, and indeed some series do heat exactly to the degree, including re-heating. But "benchmarking and lifestyle" brands like Samsung don’t because this way they can claim miraculously low energy consumption. - Using fabric softeners. These in my opinion are one of the main reasons for filthy washing machines. You basically cover you clothes and nearly all parts of your washing machine with fat-like chemicals that are very hard to remove and eventually begin to mold. Remember: Fabric softener is spread all around the outer tub during the last spin. Washing water mixed with detergents that could remove the fabric softener residues never reaches the upper parts of the inner drum! The buildup can also be a cause for rotting drum spiders and damaged drum shaft seals, leading to bearing failures. - Rinsing with not enough water. - Not doing enough hot washes (60-90 °C / 140-194 °F) with a powder detergent with bleach (mostly sold for white clothes). - No maintenance of the detergent drawer and casing, the door bellows and the pump filter.
