This one of his darkest songs and the most dramatic song . I can picture all the things he said 😰😨. Just imagine the studio session, according to the producers(Bass brothers) Em did this pretty quickly as he didn't want to lose his emotions. This was supposed to be a love song to Kim and it ended up being of the most violent hip hop songs. The session was very quiet.

In my interpretation, it is kind of a love song. although toxic love. I have a father, that was sometimes in rage mode against my mother too. she went away from him. but he cried and wanted her back for many many years. I think such persons have many personal emotional problems and when alcohol or other drugs come in to play, they don´t know how to handle the situation and then everything goes to shit. they are no bad humans. my father is a really cool person and a loving father too. but being married to him is probably not the best situation for other women. in eminems songs I allways have a feeling, that he wants something to tell. and that he somehow wants to create a bettr world and also point at some bad situations in the world (politics etc) I think, he has much love inside him.

(also, this is for your wife and daughter): Eminem said that he wrote this track, and a lot of other tracks that are sad and depressing, that are mad and crazy so he wouldn't do these things in real life. To me this is one of those songs that you had to be in that moment in time when this song was released. For fans that have been listening to him since the beginning or before, we were bombarded with Kim and Eminem’s relationship. From the drug use, cheating, on and off, unhealthy relationship, etc..... This was the first song he recorded on the Marshall Mathers LP and he did it in one take if my memory serves me correctly. Listening to this now as you guys have done in such a short period of time into Eminem and not having the buildup in their real life as well as thru his discography, I can see why someone wouldn’t like it. For us fans...it’s a masterpiece bc we understand it. Not that he wants to kill her, but this is how much he loves her that he would go to lengths such as these to prove it. It also was a therapy song as Eminem has stated many times songs are a venting place for him so he doesn’t go crazy in real life. You may think it’s twisted but I’ve read recently that in some ways he expressed to her that this was a love song. Without this twisted mind of his you wouldn’t have Slim Shady and without Slim Shady, Eminem is not nearly as big as he has become. Fun fact: Eminem played this song for Kim before ever releasing it or singing it live. She wasn’t fond of it at all, understandably. She made one request of him: Do not ever sing it at a live show. First show she was invited to and he played it. She went home that night and slit her wrists. She survived it tho. When The Marshall Mathers LP came out, I was about 20. I wasn't a huge Eminem fan, but there was so much controversy about this song. MTV News or something mentioned it and they'd play a snippet "Bleed **** Bleed." So I decide to buy this album, mainly because I liked the song "The Way I am." When I finally listened to 'Kim,' my reaction/response surprised me: I was bopping my head to the song--not the content but the energy. The fast piano with the aggressive metal guitar--and the sound effects. Everything in this song was perfectly timed--and the range of the deranged hurt in his voice was pretty magnificent to me. This is a song you get lost in when you're not your best self. Anyway, I haven't listened to this song in about 17 years, and I'm slightly ashamed to admit there's a genius aspect to this song. It's not necessarily admirable ingenuity, but...
