Thank you so much for creating this video. In 11 years I've never had to lower my spare myself. Recently. I was in a situation even with roadside assistance. There seem to be some confusion on if they were going to be able to lower my spare. Your video allowed me to learn it, figure it out in less than 15 minutes and then start blowing my spare. Thank you so very much! Just wanted you to know that you saved a 66-year-old woman and her distress in a parking lot that was going on for almost 6 hours. Have a wonderful life dear!

Thanks a lot Nate for this new video. The thoughtful and valuable advice is gratefully appreciated because many people are not aware of this awesome detail on the F-150. I think this is one of the smartest improvements, in terms of security & convenience on this Ford model in years. The previous method, for pulling the spare tire from under the F-150 trucks was cumbersome and dangerous and in fact, impossible task for many people to do. Again; …Thank you!

A chain driven spare tire hoist came standard on my 1979 Toyota pickup. I was SHOCKED to find that my newly acquired 1993 F-150 has no hoist at all. Had to climb under the truck. Absolutely primitive. Glad to see Ford finally catching up with Toyota.

Thanks for the new video. I can tell, that some thought went into making a video that no one else would think to make. A lot of people use KZbin videos, to quickly learn how to do things they are unfamiliar with. These vast libraries of practical knowledge are invaluable, even to people with years of experience. Thank goodness for people willing to take the time to share what they know. Hang in there Nathan!

@TheNateTake3 жыл бұрын
Most likely it's rusted. You'll have to get in there with some penetrating oil and see if that will free it up. Worse case, you might have to unbolt the whole assembly, drop it out. Remove the tire and then work on it that way. Good luck!

Excellent! Can't stress it enough myself in telling viewers to practice the removal and installation of their spare tire and where to place the jack. I taught my daughters the same on their vehicles by doing a hands-on with them conducting the steps to include snap shots of them doing the steps with large print fonts instructions in a plastic Ziploc bag in the jack kit. Why large print fonts? At night on the side of road it's easier to read/understand.

So Im wondering how you can do this WITHOUT the plastic "tube" I dont have one on my truck?
@TheNateTake2 жыл бұрын
You certainly can do it. You'll just have to find the spot it goes into. I've done it on trucks without the plastic tube before. Just takes a little longer. Once you find it, memorize the angle the tool is sticking out the back of the truck at. That will get you very close the next time you have to do it.
@Skansi822 жыл бұрын

Why didn't you show how cable and bracket where attached to the rim? You stuck your hand in hole and grabbed the bracket not showing how to connect or reconnect it, so we have to figure that out on our own, RIGHT? 😠
@TheNateTake3 жыл бұрын
Well if you follow this process on your truck, you will realize that there is nothing attaching it. It just slips in and because it's wider than the hole, once the cable is tightened down, it holds it snug. I figured you'd be able to figure that out yourself when your taking your tire off. I guess I was wrong.
@cepedaruben13 жыл бұрын
