Those albums like take care and nothing was the same, was a different time and era in music. music changes more rapidly than it ever has, prior to thirty years ago, with all the social media and tons of Internet platforms, music and styles depreciate at lighting speed. People are already on to the next wave in a matter of seconds, it just so happens that drake has been able to capture and keep up with each wave as it comes. Thus the reason why he's been able to sustain his success.
@Moon-lt1dl

But it’s Drake tho, if anybody can set trends it’s him that’s why just catching waves feels like a disservice. I honestly think he hit a ceiling. What he did early on was ahead of it’s time but the young bucks just do it way better now. Drake lookin like a role player

When those albums came out they sounded like nothing else that was out at the time. Both those albums are timeless and can be played right now and still be hits. The big issue is that he started going for trends instead of being the trendsetter he was when he first started. These latest albums are directed at a particular group and that’s never been his style he’s always been able to produce for the masses.

🔊 'If you're reading this, it's too late' seems to me the last album of the character of "rapper Drake" : 'Thank me later' is, and still, the best album (by the way, I understand why I thank him now for the classics he made in opposition to all the street mumble raps with no other sense than taking pills or be violent) defining the Drake's sound - this cold (as "coldplay" by the way) but soft autumn-winter healing atmospheres well-mixed with the rest of warm emotions of summer kicked and snared that will help us through the snow road to the fall - , until 'the story of Adidon' where he decided to be more "singer Drake" than "rapper Drake". "Singer Drake" wants to please to new fans, the LGBTQ+ of course, who listen others musics as electro with 'madiba ridim' on 'More Life' or 'Honestly never mind', and it can shock the core fans which doesn't fit in "singer Drake". 'For all the Dogs' is simply 'singer Drake" at 85% and "rapper Drake" at 15% : it was made to gather LGBTQ+ fans with straights fans as a whole, and the Dogs are maybe the ones who have LGBTQ+ friends and straight fans...who knows ? 🔊
