I have been following this vlog during pendemic time. Feel that no one can stop you from educating in such a way. We need to know that the majority of people outside do not have the opportunity to have farmland like this family. Therefore no one has the right to speak up to criticize you and teach you how to educate your own children. But there may be different ways and cultures to educate families. I agree with bare feet and playing in the dirt. I grew up that way with mud pies and I ate pine nuts out of pine cones I found I remember the spring pond we played in it had a Crab Apple tree that was near it. I am now 74 yrs young I still go bare foot.

The bio pool is such an exciting project, and the thing I really do love about your approach to any build is the long term view of it. You could just dig a hole, wap a liner in and bosh it's done, but the fact you carefully consider the longevity of each project and just how it will impact The Farm, your family and the surrounding wildlife is certainly something to aspire to. I'm a Grandma and have grandchildren that live on a farm. I love that they are living their best lives on beautiful land like you and your boys. Emerie, my youngest loves to show me around and tell me what's new on her family farm. She tells me the names of all their chickens, goats and pets (when the new ones arrive) and loves showing me her garden that we planted together. The progress, what is providing fruit and also what has died (strawberries didn't work out). Your channel is so fun to watch! I absolutely love watching the boys playing in the sand, dirt, mud, water etc. It reminds me of my own kids doing the same. And ditto what everyone else has said regarding immunity. Now for some (helpful I hope) suggestions. When the boys have finished playing in the mud, rinse them off with the hose WITH their clothes on, then with the clothes off. It’ll help keep your bath/room clean. The using the hose on full pelt, blast as much mud, dirt and grim off the clothes before putting them in the washing machine. My other suggestion is, put some bird baths around your garden; especially the one in front of the stone house you’re now living in. Imagine how lovely it would be to sit having your morning/afternoon coffee on the verandah watching the birds have a bath…heavenly. Love what you have done and are doing with the farm. Can’t wait to see/hear the big surprise. Lots of love and peace from Kyogle, Australia.

You may not be able to get a truck down to the pool, but can get a truck with a pump pipe? If they can pump concrete for a 100 story sky scraper, they ought to have a pump and tube that can go right across the lawn and pour into the pool. Tara, the hose is your friend. Spray the kids while dressed and then nekkid. Pick the warm part of the day. Until then, they can nap, eat and play on a towel in the tree house. Leave them in a pair of pants. More clothes are a waste. Good luck! I'm thinking positive thoughts for you!

Yes this episode belongs to the boys. It's amazing to see them so independent and comfortable in their environment whether it's the mud or Cruso (sp?) working the water line for the hedgerow. Then Sawyer just climbs up the rebar grid like he's done it a dozen times before. I believe that climbing is one of the best if not the best activity for mind body development. Obviously Cruso had an advantage being older and already agile and more verbal. Sawyer is catching up fast. His independent act enticed his brother to join in. Great relationship happening there.

🦋 When I was a nursery school teacher, we had models of the kids used to play in but then we had just one bucket filled with water where we used to rent some out before we put them in the machine. Maybe that’ll help save somewhere and tear on your machine. It was like reading a story book watching. The boys and the dog playing in the mud. I remember as a child that was one of my favorite things to do. I’m just playing in the mud. Make a little channels little mud pies. Lots and lots of fun.

Not sure if you have deer in Portugal, but if you attact wildlife you may have to fence in your vegetable garden and fruit trees. Every year in at our house in the U.S., the deer eat our figs, plums, pears, apples and anything else they can. We have had the tops of potato plants eaten as well as any other vegetables that are not fenced in. We have seen the deer standing on their hind legs to reach the fruit that is high up the trees. A lot of the time they pull the fruit down before it is ripe and leave it on the ground.
