Why don’t you guys do videos on your favorite home waters? So you would understand how I feel about you doing videos of my home waters.

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. First off, yes we do actually shoot shows or videos around where we live. They are public waters and available to all anglers. In terms of "home waters", we've been coming to OH/PA to fish in the fall and spring for steelhead for over 20 years and though we don't live there, it does feel now like home waters. We also recognize that OH/PA put a great deal of money into the stocking program for steelhead because it helps bring anglers to the region. Those same anglers are the ones who buy the steelhead stamp that helps pay for this stocking program. So it is a bit of a conundrum, on one hand I can appreciate you don't want us to shoot videos on your local rivers. But on the other hand, the stocking programs needs our $$$ to continue and also tourism in those states is always wanting us to come and promote the region to bring money into the local economy. Certainly the steelhead fishing in your area is no secret, so it is not like we're "spot burning" as there is tons of info on the rivers in websites and in forums. Yes, it can be busy, but I have found by being polite and courteous to fellow anglers, there is lots of space for us all to fish. To that, this past December we just shot a new show based out of Conneaut and one of the discussions we included was "river etiquette" with the hope this will help. We even did an interview with a local guide about being a conscientious angler and picking up garbage left by others: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJLUqpJ3hJd8e80 We hope this explains our perspective on shooting video in "Steelhead Alley". We understand your point but we also recognize that the stocking program would not possibly exist if it weren't for out of state anglers helping to fund this vital program. We hope you have a wonderful fishing season this year and if you ever see us on the river, please come chat with us. Happy to further discuss this concern.

The Washington fish and game has actually started issuing citations in the Midwest for using this term. Finally.

@838beb idk where you saw this but I'm finding nothing on it. everyone refers to them as steelhead, so what are they expecting to change? not to mention.. why does it matter?

Lake-run trout are NOT steelhead.
@838beb2 жыл бұрын
Literally everyone knows this. It’s a regional term that separates lake run from not. We also realize that we are not in Skamania even though that’s what we call summer runners.

Brookie, I wholeheartedly agree and thanks for addressing this important issue. There are REAL and very SERIOUS consequences to a group of people in the Midwest calling some fish a particular name. Please keep up the good work, brookie we all appreciate it

Why not? Same fish; absolutely no genetic difference. You're just a bunch of fish snobs.
