You can definitely see how the Chinese people think about other countries. So they're saying that strengthening up is a threat to them, and we simply just lay down and do nothing? You see, the Philippines also has disputes with other countries, and other ASEAN countries have with the Philippines, but you don't see any military actions as they talk about it and cooperate. Then enter China, show muscles, and say this is mine, according to my grandfather. That doesn't make any sense because we have an international law agreed upon by everyone before, and now one of them is breaking that agreement. Hey, I get where you’re coming from, but it’s not as simple as ‘China just saying it’s theirs.’ The South China Sea has been part of Chinese history and maps for centuries-it’s not something we just made up. Sure, UNCLOS is important, but it doesn’t erase those historical rights, and we never agreed to give up sovereignty under it. And let’s be real, China’s not the only one showing muscles-other countries have military alliances and are doing things that provoke too. There are 11 countries in Southeast Asia with 6 or 7 (if counting the island of Taiwan) of them involved in territorial disputes & conflicting island and maritime claims in the South China Sea.
