Imagine India going and fighting with Pakistan after the partition and not agreeing to the two-state solution that Brits signed us into. That is what Palestinians did. We have to see that perspective as well. All Palestenians should have done is agreed to it over the past 75 years. They kept fighting, loosing wars and then started bombing innocent people. So, why didn't the author bring that perspective as well - Ample chances were give for peace earlier, but Palestinians kept warring.

Also to be noted - from 1948 to 1967 West Bank was under Jordan and Gaza was under Egypt. Why didn’t they make a Palestinian state then? Also before the first intifada people could freely move about without check points and walls in Jerusalem and West Bank. Due to suicide bombings Israel had no choice but to tighten security. The Palestinians do not want to live in peace with the Israel instead they want to annihilate the Jews. And the Jews are much more capable and will not just go away. Israel’s view has changed after Oct 7. They realize they need defendable borders and hence the annexation of the rest of Golan heights etc. Until the Arabs lay down their arms there will be no peace and if Israel lay down their arms there will be no more Israel. The author is trying to balance in favor of the vocal majority.

In 1948 UNO had proposed partition of Holyland (i.e. erstwhile Palestine territory under British Mandate) between Arabs (Palestine) and Jews (Israel). Palestinians vehemently opposed and rejected it, however, Jews agreed and accepted proposal. On 14 May, 1948 Jewish people declared establishment of free State of Israel. if Palestinians had rejected partition then that was for understandable reasons. Settler Jews had intended to have the land for themselves for a very long time at the expense of the Palestinian Arabs who were living there in Holy land. Ben Gurion agreed to partition because that would allow Israel legitimacy in international stage so that it grabs more land from the Palestinians after the Nakba. It's not that Palestinians never agreed to a two-state solution. They have agreed in numerous occasions and had recognised Israel as a state. But Israel never really kept its promise to agree to a two-state solution

Stanley is wrong about Russia invading Ukraine, and the Russian Ukraine-Russia conflict didn’t happen in the vacuum. It started at the fall of Soviet Union and the start of the unipolar hegemony and look east policy of NATO, which new Russia rejected, and after a lot of peace talks which didn’t lead to peace between Russia-Ukraine, Russia on 24.02.2022 attacked Ukraine. Stanly has a simplistic analysis, not worth anything. As much as I struggle for the loss of Palestinian lives, it is their Islamic ideology to be blamed. Right from school, kids are brought up with hatred for Jews. When Israeli captives were taken on October 7th attack, everyone including kids in Gaza celebrated shouting “Allahu Akbar”. Israel removed all checkpoints and gave control to Palestinians in Gaza. Not a single Jew was left in Gaza including dead bodies. Gazans chose Hamas and now they have war and poverty while Hamas leaders are sitting in great luxury away from Gaza. Let us talk about occupation as Stanly says. Gazans were so occupied; Hamas was able to build miles and miles of tunnels. They were so controlled; Hamas was able to get so much ammunition to attack Israel. They were so controlled; Hamas was able to have their leaders fly to and from Qatar at will. Remember that the author was able to travel to Westbank only because Israel still holds some control and ensures peace. I listened to the entire interview. He has no facts, just opinions and quoting some stray statements of Netanyahu to fit his narrative. Which country sends warnings for enemy citizens to evacuate, call them and talk in their native tongue, give aid, vaccinate their children and so on. I don’t think we have seen any benevolent country like this which can be concerned about its enemy as this. Stanly, why don’t you talk about the captives in the control of Hamas. If you don’t have any courage to deal with facts, don’t write rubbish viewpoints and corrupt minds of those who don’t evaluate the situation critically. Most West Asian Islamic countries hate Jews, westerners and Indians. I am happy about the pro-Israel stance of India though they do not always call spade as a spade in view of global diplomacy.
