Bex so glad that you are doing better. Sorry to hear about the BSS, hope that it was only small things. Looking forward to the next video to learn what went wrong. That was really clever about the caulking to help hold the screws in place. If you need to use those diamond bits again have a cup of water at hand to dribble water onto the bit to keep it cool as you drill. The diamonds, Chris, are industrial grade so they are really worth VERY little. Not the kind of thing that you would have made into a ring for Bex. They are held in place with a high temperature resin. Big hugs and keep smiling. Mark Alberta, Canada

Hi Mark, its a bit crap about the BSS but supposedly its quite common as new rules are added constantly, it hopefully shouldnt take to long to correct and then were on our way again. Thats a very handy tip with the water... completely forgot. a shame there not worth anything 😂😂 have a lovely week

I didnt pick up on your neck injury. Glad you're feeling better. I've found yoga great for my back and neck and doable on a narrowboat. I use the fiton app which you can use for free if you don't mind ads. I've recently discovered Thai massage so maybe when you're more recovered it might help prevent it returning. Love the channel and you've prompted me to send hubby on nbsc plumbing course so we can replace our calorifier

I had the same as you and over the years with terrible pain and 10 days in a morphine delirium. I finally got it sorted with an rolled up medium towel bath size too big. You fold in half and roll into a sausage shape then take your pillow and insert at one end to the other at the inside edge. Leave your not too plump pillow in as well so the rolled towel sits under your neck. Leave it in permanently. The rest of your head on the pillow. Make sure it fully supports your neck but not Leave it crooked. Then ask the doc for a few diaizipan low dose to fully relax the muscle and allow full healing. Keep some in the medical cabinet for if you strain your neck again. Please know this will work like nothing else. I've had so many years of problems of of my neck. Saw docs hospitals specialists physio back osteos etc etc no problems since x

The worst pain is in the spine. I have herniated discs but got to finish painting the outside of my boat. Just take it easy Bex. There's a great chiropractor in coventry they do laser too which really helps.

Good to see your feeling better if a bit disappointed by the BSS results . Is your Stove ‘Harth’ ‘Heath ‘ ( what ever its called ) standing on the old Floor underneath it ? If so , could you just use a longer Wood screw that reaches down to it , for a solid fix .

When I needed to drill a tile my dad showed me a tip. He just used to use a masonry drill bit and put a bit of insulation tape on the tile where you wanted to drill the hole to stop the drill bit slipping when your drilling it. Also drill it to the Size of a raw plug and use a raw plug in the hole to screw into and secure it. I’m sure if I remember right it’s a 5.5 mm drill bit for red raw plugs.

Rawlplud may be no good as if heat traveled through metal to feet then through the screw the rawlplug would melt. Just enjoy and worry about later if it crops up again .

Doesn’t matter that the boat failed, it just means that there’s more to do, so more content, more views but less cruising. Don’t worry about failing the BSS, I don’t prepare for it and don’t do unnecessary things before hand. As for the fire he may fail it on the return test as you’ve let everyone know it’s only stuck down (unless you’ve already passed the BSS before you put the vlog out)

Yes we did worry about that but thought it was funny so risked it, it shouldn't be a too hard fix if it does get flagged anyway...we were just being lazy and couldn't be bothered to get larger screws. its quite normal practice for boats to fail on a few things so were not to massively fussed, Thank you

You can't leave us on a cliffhanger like that!!! We need to know why, what, where, how! I am crossing my fingers it was for small easy fixable items, and nothing huge or massive! I am really sorry. This must have been a downer; but do not worry, you now have a list of items that need to get fixed& then that certificate will be yours!! Which is great, cause it means you'll be able to concentrate on what needs doing/ what is left. Plus, I am sure many ppl fail on the first try, after such a massive overhaul & then get it on the second (or worse case 3rd) try. (When I do my boat, I expect fully to fail a couple of times, before it is all sorted. Not because of shoddy work, but because one cant know everything.) Hey! I do want a great Becks style party, with appropriate named drinks when you guys hold your shiny certificate in your hands!! Better start planning ej! :) I hope Becks feels better (and btw those mentioned Diclofenac pads will get those muscles relaxed& feeling good again in no time. You can buy stick on discs with a 6mm hole in it to line up those bits for tiles . You did not need as the foot o f the stove did the same job. As another comment keep cooling the bit every few seconds in water.. Saying all that I just would not have shown any on youtube and just cut the heads off the bolts and used an epoxy glue to stick them over the holes . That way no holes in tiles in case I changed the stove in the future. Bit naughty but as you say it is solid..

Aww Chris what an absolute ar*e hole that inspector was then! Typical jobsworth! That screw hack was brill. I would have cut the top off the screw and glued that on before drilling those lovely tiles. Glad Bex is on the mend, I suffer with my neck so I know how she feels bless her.
