I'm gonna say that you'll probably need to put a hold-down strap on the batteries. They like them to stay in place even if it capsizes, not just rolling side to side.

@@TheNomadicCrobot It WILL get flagged. Gas bottles must be secured with chains or straps so even if the boat tips over, they stay in place. Putting a lock on the door won't make a difference, except deterring thieves, because it's not acceptable for them to move about inside and possibly puncture. Also, you can't keep the gas spanner in the gas locker, convenient though it is.

Hello Becca and Chris, It was very interesting to learn about the BSS exam. You both seem to be on top of everything. A serious vlog this week, no special effects etc, but sometimes one has to be serious, and your safety is Paramount. Loved the banter between you both. We also learn't how to turn on a Tap, and how to drink out of a jug, of which was really informative. Becca gave a very infoirmative demonstatration of how pipes travel thru bulkheads. I loved the opening of the video (and I said no special effects) which was great, and I oved the Flying saucer. Becca explained everything so well in true Becca style. Another great Vlog. hey Bec and Chris I think you have most of it sorted just one concern to me, now I'm in Australia so the rules may differ but venting the gas locker under the doors would not fly here. we have to have a skin fitting in the lowest part of the locker that runs to an overboard skin fitting. I can't see why this would be different overt there so perhaps an enquiry with an inspector may be in order. love your work guys

New covers look great, popped in to the pub for a quick beer and nuts on the Friday, quick run out on the moped. such a lovely pub for a quick beer on a sunny day. River looked fast flowing and according to a local about 18" higher than the day before. For question 1 you are now venting into the canopy so don't smoke with it all coved 🙂 With the vents you need to know what you are trying to vent out. Carbon dioxide CO2 is heaver than air so a low vent would be good, but carbon monoxide CO if about the same or a little lighter. the problem with low level vents in the cabin is you would have drowned before before the CO2 got you. 🙂 You can't beat good ventilation and an alarm.

Discovered you guys a couple of days ago when 'boat crashes', always good for a laugh, sorry, popped up on our stream. So far watched on a catch up of your very entertaining vids...you two are both absolute naturals at this utube film making malarky! So there's us thinking getting a 30 foot yacht in and out of a tidal marina was difficult! Would you believe that we don't need any sort of safety certificate for our 40 year old yacht! Suggest upgrading to tractor tyres as bumpers & breaking the mental connection to the spare battery then send it to a scrap dealer for a few quid - the spare board over the batteries makes for a nice seat when you lose the metal cover or is there a mental connection to that board too.... Oh in the states we call collecting rubbish hoarding

Hi Guys, a favourite fail is the gas pigtail tube that connects the gas bottles.... if its not been replaced recently be prepared for that to flag up - some have dates on i think??
