It's an odd thing to say, but it gives me the impression that he is essentially alone IMO.¹ Plus, that one police woman said that those on the planet they have to go to to get him do things their own way. So I think that's more the culture we should be attributing to the camaraderie. As for the police force transitioning into stormtroopers, I don't think that's likely, given that Empire has been in full swing for many years. The date at the beginning of the show said *BBY 5,* which basically means 5 years before the Battle of Yavin in episode 4. ··•●✺●•·· ¹ ─ Plus the way *Maarva,* the woman who took him off *Kenari,* was asking who he told he was from there, made it seem like he was alone. And the way *Bix* addressed it too. It wasn't her planet of origin. That's my take. 🤷🏼‍♂️

No, she did not take any more kids off the planet. They even show her with only one kid on board her spacecraft. She went to get the fuel rods or whatever scrap she was looking for, found the kid, letter her maternal instincts take over and grab him. NOTHING MORE.

I also don't think the others were Kenari kids. But just people Cassian grew up with. But I do think it's possible, once Kassa and Maarva (and Clem and Bee) were able to kind of figure out a way to communicate and understand each other, and Kassa was able to tell them that he wasn't alone there and that he had a sister, they may have tried to go back to Kenari and perhaps saw the aftermath of the Republic Frigate's arrival, and figured that the sister is alive but not there anymore.

she basically stole an him as a child - Maarva thought she was doing the right thing; but basically he was kidnapped as a child and thats why he might not even remember his sister's name. He was trying to find his sister but maybe any trace of someone from Kenari to find out what happened after he was taken. It was beautiful and traumatizing to see what happened to him.

The ship at the end is the same ship his parents were flying when they found him. Also Emo said a republic ship was coming when Marva and her husband found Cassian. So that was before Episode 3.

@@xTehOwn that is certainly possible, Maarva doesnt seem to have a very high opinion of the republic, but until we get some more info i would just assume that the so called republic ship is from the repubic and the guys in seperatist uniforms are seperatists. Also what ever happend on Kenari to whipe out the population probably had nothing to do with that speratist ship. I dont see the Empire covering something up with the good old mining desaster story, if they can just blame it on the seperatists. I think this is just how the republic (re)discovered the planet.

Actually, the first three episodes of Andor are confirmed to be five years -after Episode III/RotS- before Episode IV/ANH (the same time as Jedi: Fallen Order). This is Imperial Era, and it seems that many people still think the Republic still exists. Edit: You can estimate this too. Andor was born 26 BBY, and if he is 12-13 years old in the flashbacks, that would put the time of the flashbacks at 14-13 BBY, which is approximately five years after the dissolution of the Republic (source: Wookieepedia).

The creators and actors have confirmed he's the only one from Kenari in this community, which is why no one else there has an accent similar to his. The episodes themselves also confirm he's the only one on the planet from Kenari in several ways. His adopted mother Maarva and his closest friends immediately know the security notice asking for a "man from Kenari" must be about him and no one else because there's no one else it could be about. It's also why he's asked who knows about him and where he's from and wasn't asked if any other people from Kenari should be contacted and kept safe or might have talked. Likewise, Timm is asked if he was told where Cassian is from, not if he was told that people from Kenari might be in the town. The ending scenes parallel his leaving Kenari with him leaving this planet because he's wondering if once again he is leaving behind a home and family he will never see again, as happened once before. How long it was until Andor was able to learn her language and communicate that he belonged to a colony of children who were abandoned after their miner parents all died on Kenari, or whether Maarva went back after she learned this despite all the risks, and whether she did go back but by that time all the surviving children were dead themselves or all missing, is something we still need to learn.

Late to the party here, but great reaction to one of the best episodes of Star Wars ever, IMHO. "Some of the best gunplay in Star Wars" - dead on. Cuz these aren't Jedi who can dodge or redirect anything. Don't have Mando's beskar. This is real people tryin to do something big, and it's dangerous. Also great call on the camera work - grounded is exactly what this show is about, in story and in its visuals.

When I learned that Diego Luna was cast for Rouge One, I yelled to my gf, "Finally, we have one of us, a Mexican in SW." I love that his origin is from an indigenous tribe akin to those found in Latin American. It's a way to explain his heritage/accent as for the most part SW characters speak in an American or English accent. The kid that plays his younger self is also Mexican and learned to speak English along the way. I imagine flash back scenes with him and Maarva as he learns to communicate. This is why I don't believe his friends at Ferrix are the adult versions of those kids. Plus they would know about his sister's whereabouts. Love the show and your reactions. You guys gotta get Rana, Suraj, and Spidey up on here.

when it comes to the rebellion, there were pockets of rebellion around the galaxy pretty much since the creation of the Empire with others popping up and being put down as time went on. The trick was getting all of these pockets and rebel cells to come together and coordinate with each other and turn all these separate groups into the Rebel Alliance truly capable of challenging the Empire.

I think he's the only Kenari left, as far as he knows. Maybe the others got taken by the Empire when they showed up and enslaved and Cassian was following up on rumours of a Kenari female in a Empire-affiliated company-run brothel in the hope of finding his sister again.

I went apeshit when they showed Cassian's gun in episode 2, and moreso when he used it here. Because you can't tell me that isn't a Bryar pistol. Fellow 90s kids might remember that as Kyle Katarn's gun from Dark Forces, and the reference is especially powerful because the first mission in that game was stealing the Death Star plans.

Star Wars ..stuff.. has perhaps too often relied on nostalgia or known characters to attempt to build tension to mixed success. Andor did it totally different. It was deliberate, using non-traditional music, a nifty in-universe sound cue with the metal clanking and then the absence of clanking,and developing characters and a new but unremarkable pocket of the galaxy. They didn’t need stormtroopers, Vader, or even a hint of the force

The elements that come together and make up the rebellion have been getting started since during and even before the clone wars. Both sides have people learning how to fight and survive like guerillas and commandos. After the emperor reveals his play and flips the stripped on everybody, There are elements from both the Republic and separatists That felt betrayed, and played, and had to fight back. Look at Saw, look at Ryloth, look at MonCala. The sergeant was correct about fomenting everything has been fomenting for a long while, And the cracks are finally getting larger. No the people of Ferrix are not the kids from Kenari. Marva ONLY took Andor, they had to flee rapidly because Republic forces were incoming, And she Expected them to shoot anything moving.
