It's implied that Saitama's power is limitless since he's never struggled against anybody, so you can't actually gauge his upper limit. On the other hand, Goku regularly surpasses his upper limit and keeps pushing the boundaries of his limit. There's no real answer to it until Saitama struggles against an opponent which is highly unlikely considering the nature of the webcomic.

If you want to experience the season at its best, try to watch the OAV episodes in same time, because most of its episodes take place between the season 1's episodes ( for example you can see Genos spying on Saitama for a whole week after he met him at the mosquito incident and before he knocks at his door to beg him to take him as his pupil ), but you can watch all of them after the season 1, it's no big deal, but in my opinion, you'll appreciate more to watch the full story in the right order :)) I think the guys from your group who watched the whole thing will agree to that :d
