STORY TIME: I met Theo last month at Cory Wong’s summer camp and he stayed and hung with us after his show. I quickly ran and grabbed my Guild Surfliner which I had in my bag in the back of the room and Theo was like “DUDE. What guitar is this?! Can I play it?!” I was like “UHH absolutely!” After playing it for a few minutes, he wrote “🖤 Theo!!!” On the back of the headstock and he gave me a hug and told me how much he loved getting to play my guitar and it was great meeting me. I will cherish that memory for decades 😭

How do these official live recordings from this particular circle of artists, Theo here, Vulfpeck etc always sound better and more pristine than actual studio recordings, even their own? Some masterful engineering behind the scenes i'm guessing.

I'd say cause theres "the Nick", Theos touring FoH Soundwizard. I watched him work his magic for a whole gig. This man is just as talented on a mixing desk as this whole band with their instruments.

That's something I don't understand as well - why aren't outstandingly talented and blessed artists like Theo way more famous/known? I mean, compared to Vulf or Cory with his Wongnotes, who also deserve an even bigger audience, Theo's music is more accessable for the average listener IMO. I really don't get it.
