Gwen's death in the comics was considered the first time a major recurring comic book character was actually killed off and didn't come back. It was a turning point in comics and marked the end of the Silver Age of comics. Of course no one stays dead forever and she was brought back in various forms over the decades.

I've been watching you guys for a week now and this is probably a weird comment. But this movie holds a special place in my heart. Because when my wife was very sick there were times where Just me waking up or moving would exhaust her, so we sometimes slept in different rooms and I would go check on her a couple times but I watched this movie 4 or 5 times while she was sick, and she never watched it with me because she was in the other room asleep, it's the only way I could fall asleep and once she passed away. I must have watched it 40 nights in a row. Because it felt like she was in the other room. It was the only way I could sleep

This movie was a great two punch. First with hilarious goofiness. Then with emotional parts. And her death was so devastating. He reaches her and you think he will make it. And in many movies they would magically pull person up. But the fall is too high and fast. And you hear the sound and you know it immediately and it shocks you. He didn't make it. I know you criticized them a bit for crazy relationship. But i liked their silly ground rules and back and forth. It felt that this would happen in such situation. Uncertainty and desire to be with someone fighting the sense of duty. This is one of my favorite Spider-Man movies too.

It's about 3 high-school boys getting magical powers, and the film is shot like a documentary. Sony was working towards a “Sinister Six” movie. They were a team of Spideys deadliest enemies. They had a few different lineups but Vulture, doc ock, and Rhino were part of it. It would’ve been rushed and bloated if they made it into one movie so I’m glad we didn’t get that but it’s a shame Andrew didn’t get to finish his trilogy. I lean towards Tom but they all brought Peter/Spiderman to life in different and outstanding ways. Amazing ways…

Gwen's death is one of the most iconic moment in comic book history, ever..and they did wonderfully here.. Andrew's portrayal of Spiderman is still my fave..

A good way to always look at Harry and Peter's friend ship is. Harry usually doesn't want to just be son of someone important and Harry usually doesn't have friends so when Harry insists on going to public school he would just naturally gravitate to Peter. In this one yeah they're dads knew each other so they probably met sooner but neither here nor there. I always look at is as Harry always looking for a friend who wouldn't care too much about his status and Peter focused on other things but wantimg a friend fits that role. That's just my opinion tho

The moment when Spider-Man webs Gwen’s hand to the trunk of the car so that she can’t go join the fight and she yells “Peter!” and then claps her hand over her mouth was an unscripted gaffe by Emma Stone. Basically, the two Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies weren't as well-received by critics and fans as Sony Pictures would've liked. Meanwhile, the MCU was on fire and churning out blockbusters left and right. So getting a little envious of the MCU's success, Sony canceled their plans for a third movie and started negotiating with Disney to make a joint deal to introduce Spider-Man into the MCU with new actor Tom Holland in the Spidey role. The deal would allow Holland's Spider-Man to appear in the MCU's big crossover movies like Captain America: Civil War and the Avengers movies. Also, both Sony and Disney would collaborate to produce a series of solo Tom Holland Spider-Man movies, of which Sony would keep 90% of the box office earnings while Disney got 10%. It's not a situation where Sony and Disney were working on two separate Spider-Man projects at the same time. Sony has legally owned the exclusive right to make Spider-Man movies since the 90's. As long as Sony kept the rights from expiring by continuing to make Spider-Man movies, no other company could legally make their own Spider-Man movies or use him in their movies without Sony's approval and consent. That's why Spider-Man never appeared in the MCU until Captain America: Civil War, after the Sony/Disney deal had been made.

I still remember seeing this in the theater when it came out, when Gwen fell and he tried to catch her but she basically snapped in half as her head slapped the concrete floor (obviously not good) the entire theater was in shock (even knowing in the comics her character dies) the way the back of her head slapped the concrete as her back was obviously broke at the same time, everyone in the theater was instantly like "Oh FUCK! Ngl, idk if im the only one that feels this, but I cant chose between Maguire, Garfield, or Holland as they all bring so much to the role (while having one or two flaws). They all did great with every they could give: TOBEY - The geeky aunt and uncles boy with a good heart but runs with his many fulfilled emotions. He manages to keep strong morals and keep his head in check and saves the people of New York City ANDREW - An awkward skater kid who doesnt seem to fit in much, but has the brains and humor to keep him going as the titular web-slinger who without a doubt, is very good with people. TOM - A young and inexperienced hero who is navigating his way through life while overcoming msny hurdles both as parker and spider-man that'll shape him into the hero the world needs.

Stan Lee cameos in Spider Man movies just hit different because Spidey was his favorite superhero. A synopsis of the character of Spider Man is to be relateable to regular people: a teenager with normal everyday problems and personal issues. The character was rejected by his editor but since the comic Amazing Fantasy was about to be killed off and nobody really cared what was on the last issue Stan and Steve Ditko created Spidey's debut story for the now legendary Amazing Fantasy #15 and the rest, as they say, is history.

The comic spider man was very goofy when fighting criminals, making fun of his opponents and messing around, that was what made him stand out from all other super heroes and why he was my favourite as a kid Gwen dying is one of the reasons the real comic book fans loved these movies more than the Toby spidey, because it is what happened in the comics.. Even though at this point in time super hero movies were supposed to be made so that kids could watch them, so no super hero movies were dark(as they often were in the comics) All the tragedy spider man had to go through to grow up and realize that life as a super hero isn't just fun and games and that is why he kept Mary Jane at a distance for a while when he met her afterwards too, because he didn't want to endanger others again

So, they did cast a MJ/Mary Jane for this movie and she did shoot some scenes with Andrew as well as Emma aka Peter and Gwen. Shailene Woodley was chosen for this version of MJ and there were photos of her and Andrew shooting a scene. But if you look at the ending sequence where Rhino was terrorizing the city. They show an inside of a cafe and you see the back of a girl that has red/brownish hair wearing a barista apron. That’s supposedly Shailene aka MJ, but they cut the rest of her scenes in this film. Now the reason for just cutting out all her scenes was I guess the run time of the movie. Too many characters to build up unless they extended to a longer run time. I feel it’s also a little TOO SOON after having such a tragic scene of losing Gwen. Especially with the majority of the movie was Peter and Gwen’s on and off relationship adding MJ’s storyline might have been again too much for one movie. What may have been ideal was maybe have Peter meet MJ in the cafe where she works and then that rhino sequence. So we have a quick glimpse or interaction between the two to build up for TASM3 + the sinister 6 (all the villains that armor/suits you saw in Oscorp. There was also many deleted scenes that I felt should have been added to get a little bit more context or story especially for Max. There’s also a plot twist of Richard Parker actually surviving a crash and appearing to Peter at Gwen’s grave. That scene was just fantastic the emotions and exchange between Peter and Richard was just 😢

The Death of Gwen Stacy was a major event in the comics that no fan saw coming. 😢 The Amazing Spider-Man vol. 1 #121-122 June/July 1973 The Aunt May in the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies was Sally Fields who played the runaway bride in the classic Burt Reynolds comedy Smokey and the Bandit (1977). Burt plays a man in a black Trans Am who draws the attention from the police, but mostly Sheriff Buford T. Justice with his car chase antics so that Semi Truck Driver played by Jerry Reed can smuggle some contraband cargo. It's a pretty funny movie along the lines of Cannonball Run which Burt also started in. 😂

Little is known exactly why she was cut out of the movie though it was only a few scenes of her & Peter (she still got paid for her appearance) but it's probably obvious this film is way too stuffed like Raimi's Spider-Man 3
