Zach Galifianakis, like many other comics, dreamt of being a cast member on SNL, and despite some miscommunication about his placement in the crew, he got the chance to work there for a little while. Unfortunately he didn't last very long.

I don't think I have ever seen Zach talk so seriously for so long during an interview. Usually seems like he can't help but make jokes at least every 30 seconds or so. It's cool to see this side of him. Good work Sam!

I love LOVE to watch comedians talk about times when they bombed. It takes so much for you to get up there again and try once more, heal yourself and keep going. Sometimes I erase my own tweets after 20 minutes 'cause I'm afraid people mightn't have liked it. Can't imagine the shame it'd be to be in a room full of people reading something I wrote and realising it all fell flat, or worse, seeing it on the face of an audience right in front of me. Major respect.

I don't know if it's a nightmare, but it's obviously a very competitive atmosphere. You aren't going to get any help from anyone because you are potentially going to push them out of a job. There is no incentive to do anything that doesn't put a spotlight on yourself.

Zach _really_ found the sweet-spot for his skill-set with "Between Two Ferns". The movie stuff for a lot of comic creators is pretty disposable, but when they can get in their wheel-house like that with the loosely scripted improv, it's timeless and can live for decades on KZbin. I'd liken it to David's Spade best was "Hollywood Minute" where he roasted celebs with his smarmy, dry delivery.
