It's not like they're at like some sort of opera thing, and each seat has been bought specifically. They both would just need to scoot one seat over, then boom. Night saved.

There was a deleted scene explaining how the joke was that the waitresses they had originally were too pretty and rejected their offers so they had to get less attractive waitresses. The producers even told the “less attractive” waitresses not to wear makeup so they wouldn’t look as pretty.
