I'm assuming she's around my age (I'm 70) and the music we listened to was about Real Life and Love and Respect and Honor and Faithfulness!! You missed out then (it's not your fault you were born yet) but my children listened to this music when they were comin' up and STILL LOVE IT to this day! This is some classic, never to be produced again ISH and All of it was BOMB! Soul, R&B, FUNK and all the combinations they could think to combine. There is So Much to discover, love and listen to while cleaning house on the weekends! That's what we all did. We did not know what the hell we were doing but we just knew it was fun and we were happy. If I had any writing skills during my time I could have been an entertainer. My cousin and I produced a lot of bootleg cassette taps and this song was always requested for a love song list. So I knew the song very well. But my wife had never heard it before. She listen to the radio during housework one Saturday morning. As fate would have it. I walked into the house just as the song began. Feeling a little playful and silly. I began with a very theatrical rendition of this song and at the same time removing her chore clothes so she is in only a bra and sweatpants as we slow danced in the hallway. I sang it like I had wrote it hitting every note perfectly. I was being silly but she had got emotional. By the time we got to the bedroom as the song hit the repetition verse at the end....I KNEW I WAS IN GOOD TROUBLE !!! Though it was a long time ago she talks about it like it was yesterday.
