Rick James was a super star at this time and Teena was his protege. He taught her how to produce and craft songs. This song brought back so many memories, good and bad. But still precious. It took me back to my 19th year of life. The year I joined the Army and began my journey where I met and served with a whole lot of solid dudes. Some of which I lost over the years, to wounds in combat, to terminal illnesses to suicide. then I thought about Rick James and Teena Marie, and how they are both gone now. I won't lie, it brought a tear to my eye. And just listening to the highest level of talent that we will never see or hear again. RIP Teena and Rick, and all my buddies...
