Its simple. If Wells was an effective/respected clean up hitter they wouldn’t be walking Judge so much.

If they had a bonafied leadoff hitter it would also help solve that problem. If the leadoff & Soto get on base a team would be reluctant to load the bases by walking Judge. But yeah a need a #4 hitter to do damage.

322 average was more common in the 1990s...the average was like 265...judge is hitting 320 when most players are hitting 243

Meant to add: the Mantle comp is pretty dead on. Both in terms of talent/dominance AND in terms of games missed in his prime. Either of them with the durability of, say, a Willie Mays or Hank Aaron would have hit 800 HR’s

Judge needs 3 games where he hits 2 homers in each game. I don’t think he’ll do that because teams will walk him. Now that all hinges on the guys behind him. If Stanton, Wells and Stanton start connecting they will have to pitch to Judge. Let’s hope those guys start hitting.

he can do it in 2022 in august he was walked just as much as he is now down the stretch as pitchers did not want to give up home runs as he got close to 60..

Soto only having 78 rbis is a problem. He’s one of the best hitters in baseball and he never comes up with guys in base. He’s had sub .320 obp hitting ahead of him all year

Put vote for Durbin to 2B and lead off experience in minors with right discipline to lead off and steal base in top of lineup !

The guardians are severely over rated. Don't get me wrong they are a great team. The central is the worst division. They don't have the offense to survive and win the world series. Their rotation is taking a loss as well
