In this one, we escape the 107 degree weather in town by heading up to the mountains! These extremely high elevation mountains boast incredibly beautiful vistas and crystal clear streams that shockingly hold amazing treasures! Quartz seams, basalt that houses agate, chalcedony, and even banded moss agates as well as some more peculiar finds and petrified wood all hide within the gravel of these picturesque stream beds! They are FAR more uncommon than the treasures that lie on the Yellowstone but after many hours of searching, we came away with some amazing finds! After getting back to the shop, we go ahead and cut a few up and then get some good closeups! I hope you all enjoy, and I will have another one out very soon!

What a great video! Loved the beautiful scenery, especially the creek. My favorite (s) for today were that reddish basalt and also the one that you couldn't identify that looks like puddingstone. Thank you for "taking me along". Can't wait to see what you find when you're up there next time! Be careful out there.

It definitely looks like puddingstone! After further research ive actually found that it is river tumbled breccia. Its an extremely soft rock so i knew it couldnt be puddingstone but it is super cool nonetheless!😄 we may have to do a carving out of one of those!

Duude! Awesome finds! Nice deer catch too. Seeing that, I was reminded of a time I heard a deer before I saw it. A fawn was being chased by 1 or more coyotes. It jumped in a river and swam upstream, past my sister and I in our kayaks.

My mom had a close encounter with dangerous wildlife. She was out on a walking path but could go more than a quarter of a mile at a time. She had an aluminum folding chair with her. While she was resting in that chair she heard movement in the bushes 70-80 feet in front of her, out popped a cow elk. Then about a minute later a baby elk ran out. Not to longer after that a cougar ran out, but it stopped when it got to the path. She figured it couldn't catch up with the elk and that's why it stopped. It stood there swishing it's tail. My mom prayed and praise God it turned and went back into the woods. I was so happy it did not see her, because I don't think she would have survived. Love your agates Theo!

Breccia! Thank you, thats exactly what it is!😂 people keep telling me puddingstone which it DOES look a LOT like puddingstone to be fair but it is EXTREMELY soft(like softer than calcite)so it cant be puddingstone, and that mountain range has a massive amount of igneous, old volcanic material/activity so its definitely breccia! Thank you so much that has been driving me nuts🤣

I have two for my favorite the large one and the blue seam agate are both awesome in there own way. Also I like how your vocabulary changes when you get so excited, it's great. You should cut some slabs off the big one, so you will have a flat surface to set it on and polish just two sides. Keep up the great videos and God bless you and your family.

Don't have any pictures on my tablet to show you hopefully I will soon! I saw a cab making video of yours and believe I could do that and won't hurt to try! Love your videos! Thank you for sharing your hunts with us, I've learned a lot from you. My favorite is the little seam agate, so blue! Blue is my favorite but I've never found a blue agate yet. You are so talented, you can do anything, so amazing! If you were going to tumble a smaller agate or petrified wood how do you get the "crud" off if it's thick? Muriatic acid or can you dremel some off first if they are super bumpy on the outside? Thanks for another great video!

The red marbled "I don't Know!" specimen is red calcedony or chert inclusions and the color is from dissolved iron oxide in the melt as it formed and cooled. Pretty and unusual. Not colored by irradiation as is the blue calcedony. Chemistry of rocks and minerals is so fascinating. I may never get to your local, but if you would PM me the area, if the gods permit I would like to explore that creek. The deer running definitely had me wondering about bears too. Nice work and thank you for sharing!

Ive addressed this before though i recognize that most people likely have not seen every one of my videos, but there is a reason i do not do closeups in the field. It is not for a lack of want, but a lack of proper equipment. i do all of my filming on a gopro which has a fixed focus, meaning anything that gets within two feet of the camera goes out of focus; what you see in my hunts is quite literally as close as i can get. Ive tried doing closeups during the hunt on my phone but it has such an awful camera that the footage is terrible unless it is in a controlled environment with proper lighting and a tripod(like back at the shop). I will be getting a new camera soon and will absolutely be doing closeups in the field once that happens, but as for now im doing the best with what i have to work with
