My friend said it really well: the question shouldn’t be “how close can I get to the line”; it should be “how close can I get to God?”

At 48 years old and living a lukewarm Catholic life I thank the Merciful Father for his gift of forgiveness. Go to confession and pray the Rosary!

This is such a great video. I only listened to it because it was suggested to me. Please consider uploading it again using a different title. Maybe "free from the law vs free of the law"?! This is absolute gold! Also consider going more into detail about this law topic. What does it mean that Jesus came to fulfil the law in this context etc.

Do you have a discussion on the definition of marriage? I have some questions about distinguishing between what might be a "natural-law-marriage" that post hoc recognizes an active relationship as a marriage. And then there is a religious institution initiation of a marital union. My interpretation of Genesis and Paul's discussion of marriage is that they are recognizing what exists as God's design is a marriage, not by an institutional proclamation. A second issue, probably separate: defining a marriage according to what keeps it functional and healthy. There are wedding ceremonies that include the family and community, and in a healthy community, those members actually assist in the health of the marriage. If institutions are going to "initiate" a marital union, and then not assist in the health of the marriage, then was that marital union ever legitimate? I believe it was because of the couples participation in it fulfilled God's design for a time. Third, is God's design the same as natural law from a Catholic perspective?

So when my girlfriend is having a really rough day and just needs a hug and I want deeply to express my love through hugging her since she loves being hugged, I should refrain simply because the act of hugging can be arousing? Cause I can hug her with the purest intent and my mind never goes anywhere lustful but I get physically aroused.

I don’t know how I feel about the definite “line” because then it makes me feel able to do anything besides that specifically, which in doing so pushes me away from that true, divine, Godly love. And could you do a video on how to pray to let God in, if you haven’t already.

Typical religious person, has no trust in himself and has to defer all opinions to an authority.
