Perfect video, just as I’m lookin at my Nova Craft and contemplating how to repair it. Hopefully they can match an old colour not sold anymore.

TheOneCanoe it’s a 20yr old canoe but after watching your video, went to their site and it looks like they still offer it. I saw you were also on the site too. Thanks for your work and for raising an awesome son who contributes so much to the community.

I just tried to touch up a few cracks on the keel line of my Kevlar Bob Special. I had your kit and added a few drops of MEK and used wax paper. In the morning, the gel was still wet. I only used about 1/10 of the jar and added about 2 drops of MEK. What did I do wrong?

Thanks for the video . I have a blue steel special & I picked up a spider shaped crack last summer. With spring approaching it is something I need to do. Brian 77

How about using a Dremel? I have a Swift Pack 13.6, it has a spider-web crack on the champagne side right below the color line with the Sapphire, it was kind of using lot of care but I did the V channels using the Dremel with a diamond tip bit, being extra careful not to go off the lines too much or too deep, it came really nice now ?it is ready for the job, let's see how it stays after done. The crack was because the wind blew the canoe in my back yard and it hit a corner of a wooden saw horse causing the rather large horizontal spider crack on the clear finish!! a really heart ache on a canoe paid $3000 for it, but not difference that when it is heavily used, no way to get away without cracks and damage even if you baby it.

Interesting. Yes a Dremel is a very versatile tool...I use mine for all kinds of things, but it is pretty powerful...I'd be afraid of cutting right through the hull.

I too have thought about using a Dremel. I have a nova craft p16 in tuff stuff and I have picked up many spider cracks from frequent use in the back country as well as many cracks radiating out from the yoke. Maybe from too much portaging? I would like to see a video of the technique used to repair spider cracks, specifically the v-cutting. The amount of spider cracks my canoe has, it may be much easier to use a dremel.
