i love the throughline of almost all of the onion's shows (this, lake dredge appraisal, sex house) where everybody involved hates what's going on, doesn't want to be there, and/or is actively being harmed by the show but nobody can do anything to leave or stop it. It's like a bunch of different purgatories.

lake dredge is pretty nice though, kim loves what he does, the dredgers make an honest living, it's just that sometimes passions can flare up and people come head to head. he even came to terms with his brother in the episode where they found a haunted painting depicting kims evil future self!

This has to be one of the funniest series they have, but it is so difficult to watch. How much I’ve cringed while watching all the awful decisions being made and injuries that happen.
