I love the cattleya as well. Such beautiful blooms and variations. I also love the Oncidiums as they do really well in my environment. Recently purchased a miltoniopsis (guess I am a glutton for punishment) - which ended up splitting during repotting, but no harm to either

wow, that's a great haul. Great plants.

Nobilior tip: highest light you can provide, heat, prefer to be mounted because hates being wet, likes humidity. Walkeriana tip: highlight, heat and high humidity without being wet all the time also likes to be mounted. Mine are all monted and next to the shade cloth, it's Walkeriana season here in Brazil!!!

@@TheOrchidRoom I bought a really cheap walkeriana from Schwerter (here in Germany). Let's see how it fairs. I read about it's magnificent fragrance of cinnamon and vanilla so I had to have it. It's also pretty compact - who doesn't like that?

Thanks Sue! I've taken to going in the evening if I have to, don't seem to be any queues by then and lots of reduced meats. My cat loves this as I brought a giant turkey home for £6, so we cooked it straight away and he has been having lots of turkey treats 😂

They were all a dream to repot too- they had been freshly repotted by the nursery with no plugs! I super appreciate that from a nursery!

Whoa...nice haul. C nobilior and walkeriana sends spike first and then bulbs. They like drier environment than most cattleyas. I have my walkeriana in bloom several times. Last time it had two flowers. I uploaded the video of its first flowering. Try mounting your nodosa on a broken claypot. Mine is doing really well on that setup. Before giving up, pls try BC maikai. It's the easiest of them all to grow.

Thanks for the tips and the help! I may try the clay pot soon, the nodosa x randomly rotted a growth recently 😂 usually it just dries them up so it's trying a new approach to kill itself now 😂

Thanks for sharing. I speak german. The letter says: "Don't unpack the orchids. First let them be packed in the room for 12 hours. Then they can get used to the climate, and won't be troubeled, even if they had been in cold temperatures.

It was terrible. I filmed it since I knew it was going to be the only difficult repot in this bunch 😂 Just terrible. A weed had got into the chunk sonit was all choked with tiny weed roots too 😅

Mine are almost here, they arrived Finland on Monday, just hoping to get them delivered before holidays. Is catt. Dowiana hard to find/hard to grow? Thank you for sharing the unboxing. Always so relaxing to see someone going through what they ordered. :) gives loads of joy and happy feeling. I actually lost my Morning Glory to black rot. So poor plant seems to not like it here either.

Ooh exciting, hope they're as good and arrive safely 😀🤞 Dowiana is very expensive, but not really rare- however, if you want an adult plant you're looking at £50+, it's very in-demand do sellers put their prices sky high! I have 2, one I got totally ripped off for and ended up rescuing, despite paying £70, and one seedling I got from schwerter, which is actually growing faster 🤞 Damn brassavola, they're supposed to be easy, why can't I grow this morning glory x nodosa! If little stars goes downhill I am quitting 😂

@@TheOrchidRoom these plants are from Schwerter, I'm contemplating would I do second order to have the dowiana. Don't mind them being young, however, not sure would I like it.Though, I'm attracted towards its blooms, even when it's in as one of the parent in a cross. I hate buying anything without having thought things through. I'm terrible at shopping. :D just couldn't. Also going to give the nodosa one more chance at some point, but not yet ready. It was terrible to see the plant going downhill. I'm waiting to see all the repottings you going to have!

So I just checked their website cause 35 € for a named Cattleya nobilior is an amazing deal. Now it's listed for 188 € but sold out

No they had two, a big one that was 188 and the other smaller one I bought, which was 35. As I wrote the description I saw they were low in stock, so I guess two months later they have sold out.

From memory without checking the video, I believe it was an earwig or millipede. Neither are pests I would worry about. When I have a second I will check the time stamp and get back to you.

Video shows an earwig. Nothing to be concerned about at all. Nurseries grow in large greenhouses with organic material. Earwigs are to be expected, attracted by the pots of bark and moss, and are very unlikely to harm healthy orchids.
